They're already getting rare enough that drivers wave at each other.  Well they do round here anyway.

I've noticed that. There's a chap round by me who waves when he sees me.

Nice one. They’re pretty near me and at one point I had visions of myself taking this car to them to find out whether they’re any good… let me know if I can help with logistics!

K11 micra owners often wave, I found. Perhaps it’s more about the way a car makes you feel than it is how rare it is?

I waved goodbye to the Granada earlier. @rob88h It was a pleasure meeting you, to a fanboi such as myself it was like having Rod Mansfield visit.

I was just coming back in to this thread to scold you for the title update, I thought when I saw it that it had been up to its old overheating tricks and so rushed in here to apologise!

The cambelt, water pump, and dummy stat housing behind the sump are all brand new and have genuinely done 1000 miles at most so really ought to be fine to re-use, I really think it would be a waste of money to replace them. I will admit that I didn't put any loctite on the crank pulley bolt as you're apparently supposed to, just whacked it up tight with my mains-powered rattle gun.

Anyway I am obviously pleased with this development so will watch with interest to see what the actual state of the HG is. I took a massive bath on this car financially but successfully doing a cambelt was a huge boost to my mechaniching confidence. Thinking of doing the clutch on my A6 next...

Have you managed to get the stereo working?

If you had a spare million and change, you too could live in a 1 bed flat in Khalantchi's road

Perfect for London - ULEZ exempt and auto. Is that interior original or a retrim? Just beautiful ❤️ 💕💞

Great buy. Not my usual vintage of car but I think they look great.

I also suspect I have a photo of it in London, on top of that Brooklands photo you found that I'd forgotten about.

Someones really messed with the paint since then, its like theyve rattle canned over it in white, not very well. Im hoping a bit of careful fine wet and dry and cutting back will help.

Brilliant! Do you remember where that was?

Somehow yes, Graham Terrace, not far from Sloane Square station.

I have to say, those interior shots...loving the old switchgear! I reckon I could spend a good while just sitting there adjusting all the controls, I reckon they have a lovely action/feel to them!

I adore P6's and hope to own one someday.

They are a lovely car. The V8, although thirsty is a smooth and powerful car. I still regret selling mine. My two eldest were brought home from hospital in one.

I also spotted its ancestor whilst stationary in roadworks…
