I seem to have a relatively tech savvy vendor and subsequently the shiply transport person who are both fond of sending me photos. It must be the knockout styling that’s encouraging it.

I’ve spent a long time looking and that grille and I’m just not quite sure what went on there.

Quaaludes? It was the 70s after all.

Bob No.1 "We've got all these spare VdP 1100 grilles and pickernick tables left over; What shall we do with them boss?"

Basil Exposition "Which do they fit the least badly; the Marina or the Allegro?"

Bob No.1 "errr..."

I do too. Quintessential Autoshite. I think my fondness of them comes from the fact they tried to make it better, and just ended up making the whole situation 10x worse. A parable that eloquently sums up my entire life.

Want.

As alluded to on news 24 I have also had a crisis over another car. One which the esteemed LJK Setright had to say this of in 1980....

“That appallingly unlovely and deservedly unlamented little saloon”

Bloody hell man, have you been diagnosed with something terminal?

When are they both arriving? Would love to come and have a sniff...I’ve been fantasising about dallying an a30 (or a35) for a while now...

You need to buy an Astra GTC with some rimz and questionable service history to restore equilibrium - and quickly.

I love A30s and A35s. Don't expect the brakes to be very efficient (unless they have been upgraded) even when properly set up they are marginal by today's standards. I always prefer the two door version. The doors are so small on the four door it's difficult to get in the front or back.

I just want to see the A30 parked next to the S500.

I bet its doesn't even reach the B pillar.

I’ll  have to stage that!

I've never driven an A30.  I've driven a few A35s though - my two and Angrydicky's - and found them quite enjoyable.  And I'd imagine performance isn't a prime consideration if you're going to just be bimbling around Dartmoor.

I had an indicated 80mph out of my first A35 on the Norwich bypass once, and that had no seatbelts.  Mind you I was younger and (even) stupider then.
