Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 What’s the strategy HMC? Hang on....there's a strategy!? HMC and Dave_Q 2
HMC Posted February 16, 2018 Author Posted February 16, 2018 Are you selling these because you've found something else, or are you selling them to pay the fuel bills for the LDV?Nothing on the horizon, just rarely have time to enjoy them. Equally the LDV is quite economic in the sense I hardly get to drive it! DeeJay 1
Jim Bell Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 That was quick and amazing. Like going on a log floom. cms206, Dick Cheeseburger, tooSavvy and 1 other 4
Skizzer Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Blimey, you’re smashing out these instant car sales! Well done, hope that means it (and the GS) are staying in the family.
HMC Posted February 16, 2018 Author Posted February 16, 2018 Yes both have gone to seasoned shiters. eddyramrod, They_all_do_that_sir, wuvvum and 7 others 10
Mr_Bo11ox Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Yo HMC!!!! Wanna sell my Mazda 323 for me? Dick Cheeseburger, RobT, SiC and 6 others 9
320touring Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 Yo HMC!!!! Wanna sell my Mazda 323 for me?"Monsignor Testicles took delivery of this rare 413th variation on the 323 platform in 2017. Since then he has lavished thousands on his mortgage whilst the Mazda had to sit nose to nose with the slightly racist Rover 623. It has the desirable 'biscuit pack' plastic dash, and has had the optional steering feel delete pack (£1340 additional cost new) retrofitted. With typical Japanese quality, the Mazda can be easily transported by putting the engine on a pallet, and sweeping the rest of the car into a rucksack. Yours for £1789 an a ha'penny" The Moog, barefoot, mat_the_cat and 10 others 13
HMC Posted February 17, 2018 Author Posted February 17, 2018 Before you ask, no it's not mine! My next door neighbour just bought this, it was fork lifted onto his trailer and just about snapped in half during the process.... catsinthewelder, The Moog, Vince70 and 3 others 6
Squire_Dawson Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 ^ It never ceases to amaze me how once expensive and very nice cars quickly go to shit and ruin in the wrong hands.
Tadhg Tiogar Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 ^^Looks just about fucked. Still, I suppose there are worse things to spend money on.
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 ^ It never ceases to amaze me how once expensive and very nice cars quickly go to shit and ruin in the wrong hands. Thankfully it was a Jensen Healey. They were never nice! barrett 1
DeeJay Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Before you ask, no it's not mine! My next door neighbour just bought this, it was fork lifted onto his trailer and just about snapped in half during the process....IMG_3773.JPG I didn't know you lived next door to Cavcraft. Sigmund Fraud Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 I suspect there's method to your neighbour's madness... Sell the engine for £££, ebay whatever other parts are salvageable, then weigh in the little that is left of the body. If, however, he's planning to restore it, he's insane/heroic and needs to register on here !
gadgetgricey Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Give this one 30 mins before it's sold, if I read the title change correctly
HMC Posted February 18, 2018 Author Posted February 18, 2018 Anyone fancy the 205? 5 door, 4 speed, carbed 1.1 xu engine (one of the very first) A joy to drive, no flat spots, recent clutch (seems to bite low but no slip etc) michelins all round, very straight body with no rot in any of the occasional 205 spots like boot and rear inner sills etc. Paint good but one front wing has a bit of crazing in the lacquer and the boot is a slightly different shade (not obvious but can be noticed in the rear 3/4 shot) interior good, fabric excellent aside from slightdrivers bolster wear; I've got a replacement oem seat cover for it anyway. Bad bits- driver's window (manual) not working, and the check strap is a bit slack, and there's very slight judder/rumble on breaking OSF but the brakes pull up Strongly and squarely- maybe the disc or pads?MOT October 2018, shiters price £150 located Tavistock CGSB, loserone, Dirk Diggler and 6 others 9
HMC Posted February 18, 2018 Author Posted February 18, 2018 Very comprehensive history with service books etc and a thick wad of receipts, for instance in 93 it was bought from a dealers with the owner part exing a mk2 escort (worth sod all at the time by the looks of things!) holbeck 1

wuvvum Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 Boom! SoldFor 150 quid I'm not bloody surprised! Where was this when I bought mine ffs?
The Moog Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Flips sake... need to write a programe or somefink that keeps track of HMC sales. That 205 would make me very happy I think... perhaps not Missus Moog but at that price
dollywobbler Posted March 9, 2018 Posted March 9, 2018 Did I miss something?!https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/V8-van-1995-LDV-400-hotrod-rat-rod-custom-van-camper-van-dayvan/253471480749
HMC Posted March 21, 2018 Author Posted March 21, 2018 Well it's all been very quiet on the vehicle front. Everything has been sold- and I currently have one solitary car, with a bare essentials of cubic capacity and dimensions. I quite like it but it's all been very uneventful. In fact the only thing that has happened to it is this.... Coprolalia, dollywobbler, Sigmund Fraud and 6 others 9
dollywobbler Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Excellent. What's the story with the LDV then? Did the fuel tank run off with your wallet?
