BorniteIdentity Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Smashing. Reckon we’re all thinking of the same AS Legend right now. Jim Bergerac, Split_Pin, Pillock and 3 others 6
gadgetgricey Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Jesus, where do you find them.Have those back seats ever been used. That looks awesome.12 months ticket as well oldcars 1
sierraman Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Wow. That is very tidy. They were quite nippy as well with the 1.8 in them. Has it got the usual Escort wobbly speedo?
HMC Posted August 16, 2018 Author Posted August 16, 2018 Did i win?Right on the money. Also- 2 tone velour seats? Had no idea that was a thing on the mk5 escort. Jim Bell 1
Jim Bell Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 It does look gr9. Thatll be worth holding on to and looking after. Lovely wheels on it too.
bigfella2 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Is this ghia si model?, thought it would be either a ghia or an si.
Captain Furious Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Nice, is it the 130PS model? I can't quite make out whether I can spot rear discs or not
Cavcraft Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 {shudders} egg, jumpingjehovahs, BorniteIdentity and 1 other 4
Richard Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 These look so much better than the 95 1/2 model.
sierraman Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 What’s the chassis legs like at the back, that’s where they always used to go, and the end of the sills. egg 1
Arthur Foxhake Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I wanted one of those old Escorts quite a lot. In the end, my brother bought one and I was pleased.Pleased I didn't buy one, the seats were like concrete.
bramz7 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Not usually a Ford licker but that looks really decent.
RobT Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 A desirable Mk5 Escort, who'd have thought it. I had one in the same colour with the spoiler but boring black interior, all that beige and velour looks a nice place to be. Mine was badged a GTi FFS!
sierraman Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 A chap I worked with had the same but an Escort saloon, it was a nice motor but he was a complete dick and trashed it.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Blimey. I'd bum that in the face for a week or so spartacus and jumpingjehovahs 2
Pillock Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Is this ghia si model?, thought it would be either a ghia or an si. Ghia Si was a thing for sure Not for long, but right in the middle of Ford's "We don't have a clue what to do with the Escort" period that also gave us a base-model Mexico, an RS2000, a GTi that was in the range for about three hours on a Tuesday afternoon, weekly facelifts, a disappearing Orion, indicators in the bumpers on just one model for no reason, and rust. aldo135, Brodders, dome and 4 others 7
bigfella2 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 I haz been educated in escorts, cheers Pillock.
bigfella2 Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Is that on a Glasgow reg?Hendry would have been loving it, if it was!! rantingYoof, Jim Bell, oldcars and 1 other 4
taxi paul Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Very nice. I used to have a f reg Orion 1.3 I think. Swapped it in for a k reg Sierra azure, loved that car. Lack if power steering and dogs led to swappage for a that shape escort estate. Wife bloody hated it and it got swapped for a rover 400. I do like the escorts and one day maybe I may indulge.
HMC Posted August 16, 2018 Author Posted August 16, 2018 Which one had a indicator on the bumper? Also rs2000 IIRC.
RobT Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Need to change your name. Essexman is back. What's the story with the Escort. Previous giffer owner or Ford nerd?
oldcars Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Love this, its a cracker. Mot history mileage is interesting.
BorniteIdentity Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Love this, its a cracker. Mot history mileage is interesting. What are you implying? Oh. oldcars, egg and The Moog 3
Pillock Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 These have five digit odometers so yeah, I guess if you have no common sense when inputting the mileage compared to the previous year.... Someone genuinely thought they were testing thousand miles car in 2009.2010 had a clever tester.2011 did not and they ruined it for years to come.Someone then added the 100k back on later, but it fell off again. egg 1
bub2006 Posted August 17, 2018 Posted August 17, 2018 Ghia si is a great trim, sporty looks with Ghia comfort. A friend had a k plate Orion with the 1.8 130bhp I think engine. His had factory air con, factory cd player in the cubby under the cassette deck and red needles on the dials. It was a lovely red colour with he rs/xr3 front end. Very rare motors now. Well played sir
