HMC Posted December 3, 2024 Author Posted December 3, 2024 Mr Chowdhury’s merc was used for the uni commute. Im blown away by how well it drives- if it wasnt for the panel damage and the poor paint it would be one of those you see at merc specialist dealers with an eye watering price tag. Id say it drives not far off how a new one would. Feels like its 1995 and its a £50k (or whatever the list price) car from the driving seat. lesapandre, yes oui si, wesacosa and 18 others 21
2flags Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Have you priced up a new bootlid and rear door yet? 500tops and tooSavvy 2
HMC Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Mr Chowdhury’s merc continues to be a solid daily whilst the fiat gets fixed The fossil fueled fast warm up certainly helps in the current cold temperatures ❄️ Schaefft, Cookiesouwest, Coprolalia and 14 others 17
HMC Posted December 21, 2024 Author Posted December 21, 2024 Fleet news… Mr chowdhury’s merc is being collected later, and the fiat is back in front line duties after having the combined oil filter housing/ oil cooler assembly replaced- with the part alone costing a few hundred. Ouch! Schaefft, BorniteIdentity, tooSavvy and 9 others 12
HMC Posted December 24, 2024 Author Posted December 24, 2024 Been pottering about in the daimler after finishing work for the day. Cruised about shuffling gears on the preselector, and buying some last minute things. I also did a spot- 2cv and banger rally octavia (a shop owner’s daily) Sigmund Fraud, Semi-C, Weird Car and 21 others 24
captain_70s Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Is the Daimler a returning fleet member?

HMC Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 Getting read for a collection roadtrip tomorrow. If it goes ok we will stay overnight in a fishing village, and catch 2 ferries, although its only about 40 miles away. First leg being done in a car built in the same factory as vehicle being collected, 74 years apart. Schaefft, Coprolalia, wesacosa and 12 others 14 1
