Fantastic large saloon, with a 260bhp 4.0v8! Drives extremely well and is exceptionally comfortable. Returns 28mpg on a run and about 20mpg round town.

The car comes with:

Full leather interior, cruise control, air con, 4x elec windows/elec mirrors, 6cd changer, reach and rake adjustable steering wheel, electric front seats, electrically operated seatbelt adjusters and headlamp washers.

Good

Long MOT until APRIL 2018

Engine smooth strong and powerful

Gearbox works well

All electrics work

Air con is nice and cold

Leather interior in great condition and really comfortable!

4 matching Avon tyres with plenty tread

Handsome looking car with great road presence

Issues

Idles high when cold.

Occasional brake judder - very intermittent

Some dents/scrapes on bumper corners (pictures available)

Electric Ariel damaged (spare supplied)

I am open to close offers and would consider part exchange.

Car is in Glasgow and I can collect you from local bus/train/plane stations as needed

Thanks

Nice! Wish this was a Mk1, I'd be genuinely interested. Good luck with the sale, these are fantastic cars.

No, I'm sure it was you. You definitely said a Proton Aeroback with the wrong coloured bonnet was the car of your dreams. I don't make this stuff up.

Sniff.

I'll bring it south for a potential buyer when I come to pick up the roffle s class I'm going to win.

If it comes south then all I ask is a flying visit. Five mins from the M1, 15a.

Is the timing belt due?

I'd imagine it probably is- I've not changed it and no receipt with the car to say it has been done.

Can any previous shiter owner say if they have done it?

I know DW is a writer, but I don't think his field is fiction.... ;)

Meanwhile, where do you stand on Rover 800s with fresh cambelts?

Me or Mr wobblah sah?

I am scarred by memories of driving 800s at auction- the only one that would tempt would be a fastback Tseries Vitesse, sorry!

Oh well, it cost nothing to ask!  Roffle? ;)  I had a drive of an LS400 that was to be bangered a couple of years ago, so I'd like to get my hands on a better example!

I am SO PLEASED that these are only available as autos, otherwise this would be very tempting indeed.

There was a sticker on the engine saying the belt had been done when I had it...

As I understand it, the HILUX manual box from a certain model enables conversion - in fact I know of a hilux receiving a v8 transplant:)

My pal has a lovely JRG LS460 he bought new in 2009 for £78000. It has done 40 odd thousand miles and has a full service history at the dealers.

He is looking to trade it in against the new sports thing.

They offered him £9000 - which I thought was quite a lot, but £69000 in depreciation alone in 8 years. £8500 a year. £700 a month in depreciation.

You can buy virtually the same car here for one month's depreciation.

When you put it like that, I should stick a 1 at the front;)

Interesting. I've got one of those for sale for, give or take, the same money.

Interesting, that's all I'll say.
