I imagine you should be able to pick up replacement panels at any motor factor.

I seem to think there was one in a scrap yard this year or last with a pic posted up on here?

And being sold by ace autoshiter Torsten, so chances are you might get lucky.

There was- a 6-wheeled version, Milford Cubicle posted it. I think the eBay one does have all its panels and windows though, just not attached to the car.

£6.50 a week for a council garage here.... can't imagine it being hugely more wherever you are. Next excuse?

When I applied for a council lock up I got one within the week, it's not like applying for a council house (applied in 1991, still waiting).

you have a point pog, haha, well that gives me no excuses now, ill enquire asap.Probably no more than a tenner here, it may be posh where i live but basingstoke is dog rough in places, so heres hoping. That talbot will be gone by then.

My council garage in Brum was free. They were chuffing useless but eventally I managed to get one. Then they seemed to lose all my address details for it, so they never charged me. I did get an unfriendly sticker on the garage one day months later, so vacated it...

Brammy, you could get a garage in Black Dam (not the worst area of Basingstoke by a long shot) for £35 a month, get on it.

£250 is seriously tempting money for that Talbot. If I hadn't just bought the Alpine I'd be making the trip to The Bunker I reckon.

Forgive my ignorance here - been out the country for too long. What's the procedure for these council garages? Any criteria to be met etc? I'd be well up for one or more. Then I can justify buying something utterly stupid.

This is close to Norfolk's best but least friendly chippy. Belong in the Ebay bargains thread probably.

Well I just phoned the guy at the housing association (the council by another "independent" name), and asked them. They sent me a short form, all you do is list what you want to put in ('old car tat') and tick the box saying you won't use it for commercial use or be a pain in the arse, return the form and collect some keys.

You just apply for one I think. They are only supposed to be for storage and there will be a list of rules as long as your arm but they are unlikely to be enforced if you keep a low profile and pay the rent. I'm not sure if you have to be a local resident but it shouldn't be too hard to get somebody else to apply for you.

YES! I've got a dangly mirror, gonna fit it to my truck.

Get rid of the passenger mirror too! I'd love it if you produced a Sierra P100 BASE. Do it!
