Further improvements required.  I am ready to accept delivery of my Climate Improver at any point the GGG decides to inflict one upon me.

Today a hedge was trimmed.

So there is now a square foot less Privet in Granadaland photosyntheting valuable climate improving CO2 into that Oxygen we have in abundance.

Besides, I could now even get a 70s Town Car into my front garden, but I'm not allowed to.

The Junkwoman forbade me to buy a Lincoln before I'm 70, which is another 18 years, if my calculation is correct. Talk about a b'day gift.

It'll be great fun to veer about with it between all this self driving shiny shit from China then.

Little does she know that I owned a '60 Continental Mark V (sic) when I was 28...

Well, strictly speaking Continentals weren't Lincolns back then, but I bet she wouldn't let that count.

Frank Cannon was 52 when he picked up the keys to his ice blue MkIV. I rest my case.

Mrs Junkwoman needs something 1970s, V8 powered, with velour sofas for an interior, and suspension filled with blancmange to assist in Climate Improvement™

Why is the weather so shitty despite our sterling efforts to improve The Climate?

Given that more water flows out of your exhaust than petrol pumps in, this goes a long way to explaining why the North West is having such a wet summer.

Posted

I cannot be held responsible for the wetness.

Not as long as everyone around me drives around in some miserable OMGMPG, newfangled, hideous PCP shit that makes them look exactly the spazzers that they are.

The fucking slobber from their predestined offsprings alone accounts for more rain than my tailpipes could ever emit.

August 8th.  Top temperature of 15 degrees.

We all need to try a lot fucking harder.

I do my best. I might right a bike most days but it is a 1.4 so bigger than a lot of the PCP spazmobiles out there.

My parents still have a coal fire, more people need to switch back to this due to the stupidly high gas prices these days, would mean t't pits would need re opening too

I'll try revving it, but I have only got a 3.2!

Junkman reading this earlier:

"302 - a bit small I suppose, but at least it has the right number of cylinders."

Adjusts monocle.

"Mein Gott! Three-point-two. That's a lawnmower engine!"

I reckon that like it or not, deep coal mining will have to restart in some form or other in the future. No idea where the new mines would go, however, as most of the sites of the old ones are now retail parks or country parks.

We could put them underground...

Sounds like a great excuse to demolish some soulless retail parks to me.

Well, I know a perfect solution for that problem.

Coals fine, but the ash melts your dustbin now.

Coals fine, but the ash melts your dustbin now.

It does if, as in the case of my old dear, you put it into the bin before it's fully cold; then in the middle of the night it sets fire to the bin(and thence the 4 assorted recycling bins next to it), putting an enormous sooty skidmark of Beelzebub up the side of the house, fortunately not spreading to the house, and leaving a devil's spaff of melted bin, wine bottles and tin cans over the yard.
