Home has been achieved.

I stumbled across this Aero on the uksaabs forums last week, and decided I had unfinished business with them. Seller was a complete gent, really helpful and had all the right answers. Once I had determined it suffered none of the maladies of my old one and had some decent upgrades to boot (and a bodykit, I'm a sucker for a bodykit), I pounced.

Having just driven it all the way back to Cornwall in monsoon conditions, I can confirm it's watertight and goes like fuck. verdict: WIN.

That is very red!

You appear to have a slight* LR fetish too? is that a series off to the right?

BTW, I forgot to say I liked the double Saabage in the pez shot.

That's an actual album cover and I thought we had gone all hipster for a bit, but we're okay.

Sorry OP, but as a result of the first post most of this thread is below par.

Does anyone wanna buy this? I've done my usual: gotten bored, and bought something else with a green oval on the front. And I can't insure two cars.

Good points:

  • Beautiful
  • Red (and I mean RED. Never seen another one in the flesh, looks brill)
  • Roof goes down, and comes back up
  • Goes like fuck
  • MOT till April
  • Decent tyres all round, Pirelli front, Dunlop rear
  • Loads of history and bills and shit

Bad points:

  • EML rears its head occasionally, never bothered to put a code reader on it cause every time I got round to it the bloody light had gone off again. Suspect DI pack, as is usual for Saabs of this vintage.
  • Bit of lacquer peel on the rear wing, and a little crack in the front valance. The paint is a non-metallic red though, so easy(-ish) to sort? I'll bung some pics up in a bit.
  • Starter makes a momentary grindy noise sometimes. Garage told me not to worry about it, so I haven't.

Paid £1200 2 months ago, so after that again really. Although shiter's discount will apply. Have spent around £100 on bits and tidying. Comes with a matching spare alloy, spare ACC unit, original grille, and a set of gopping "Saab Aero" embroidered floor mats, if that's your thing.

That's right, four point six. Read it and weep (at my petrol bill).

Wow, that's in a colour. Never seen one in a colour before.

Would if I could, loved mine but the storage issue that forced the sale hasn't been resolved.

Would totally take a raffle ticket, without even looking at where it is.

Edit: Fuck, CORNWALL! Still would.

The recent snagging of the SD1 V8 means I cannot (at the moment) purchase a convertible version to partner my SE sitting outside..... sadly.

This looks stunning.........

A mate's modern-ish Mazda is going to fail its MOT tomorrow on galloping structural rust and braking issues. He likes Saabs.

I've mentioned this to him, will PM you if anything comes of it.

I'd take a roffffle number if it goes that way.
