Spiny Norman Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 I keep seeing a metallic blue Fiat X1/9 around the place but I've yet to capture it.
reb Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Yesterday I spotted a Volvo Amazon, it was that lovely bluish grey a lot of them are. It was very clean, but slightly ruined by having cheap silver and black plates on it (see @LightBulbFunI do *sometimes* think there's a place for nicer/correct plates) but overall it was very nice. I initially saw it parked up, then it drove past later on being followed by some pre war thing I didn't recognise. Dyslexic Viking and LightBulbFun 2
Stanky Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 I've been driving a lot for work this week, but my day was markedly improved yesterday when I spotted this on the M25 by the M40 junction Not my pic, but the actual car. A Marcos LM500! I thought it was a Mantula (one of my favourite cars of all time) but on closer inspection it is/was an LM500, which wikipedia tells me is a Mantara with a 5.0 rover v8 putting out about 350bhp. In an 1100kg car made of fibreglass and balsa wood and angle iron. Not only that, when I pulled alongside in traffic it was being driven by a woman in her late 50s who is 100% a member of the WI! She looked like my mum, about 15 years ago. What a hero(ine)! She zoomed off the M25 and off up the M40 when the traffic cleared, and it sounded glorious. Shite Ron 1
Datsuncog Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw a Renault 12 passing in the opposite lane of the Sydenham bypass the other day. Red, with a black panel between the rear lights, so possibly TS spec? Didn't get the full registration, but believe it was an S-suffix, so '77-'78. Not exactly a common sight in Belfast, but there was a blue saloon on an R-reg puttering about a few years ago, so could be the same Rennernut piloting a new toy. Dyslexic Viking 1
bangernomics Posted September 7, 2024 Posted September 7, 2024 A weird assumed aston martin. On a rural backroad near my house plate was AML and a single digit. Looked very 70’s box angles and a low nose. Silver/pale grey. A bit ungainly.

Interestingly there’s only two AML (single digit) reg numbers AML2 is on a DB5 and AML3 is on an Audi.
bangernomics Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 It was one of those lads yes. Will keep an eye out for it.
myglaren Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Moggy cabriolet with the top open, plied up with crap. Well at least it was a nice warm day. 9℃
Lord Sterling Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Coming back from Dover was a good opportunity to spot some interesting stuff. On the M25 I saw a white (W-reg?) Mk4 Cortina 2.3 Ghia on the back of a car transporter heading west. Couldn't get a pic because driving. Due to heavy traffic at junction 15 Heathrow, I came off to go back onto the M25 to cut out 10 minutes of waiting. As I did I saw a blue R-reg Volvo V70 (850 shape) low spec and had a wheel trim missing. It was coming from one of the major roads going into the Heathrow industrial park. M25 between junction 15 Heathrow and junction 16 M40 was a 1969 Mercedes SL driven by a chap in a turban. Again, no pics because driving. M40 northbound between Oxfordshire and Warwickshire was a silver late Rover 75, very dirty, looks like it hadn't been washed in a very long time, had a plate stuck over the River 75 cut out plate underneath. Geezer driving it looked about as unwashed as the car. Looked a bit like Phil Mitchell with short receeding white hair. He was also smoking. In Bewdley town centre was also a gold coloured early Rover 75, presumably a 1.8 and the heat shield or other was rattling quite badly underneath.
bunglebus Posted April 7 Posted April 7 On Saturday I saw a Morris Oxford, in Oxford. The Minor shape, not a farina. Today in Paris I saw two Citroen Traction Avants stop just off the Place de la Concord, jogged over there and they'd gone... Dyslexic Viking and Three Speed 2
jon.k Posted April 10 Posted April 10 A great day today around Evesham. First was a lada samara which looked to be in normal use, giffer style. Next a Volvo 740 converted to pickup. finally a LHD RSI clio mk1 which its owner had imported from Switzerland new, I think she said. Dyslexic Viking 1
Macscrooge Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Yesterday on the A68 northbound in Northumberland: a load (well OK, eight) of vintage Fords. Ts and (I think) As. Later on I saw another heading south. Also heading south was a Renault Alpine GTA and a (trailered) Mk2 Escrot.
myglaren Posted April 11 Posted April 11 What appeared to be a brand new gleaming black 280 Z passed me and the driver waved. Wasn't sure but went to the garage nearby where they are getting my replacement Mazda 6 ready for me and it was indeed the garage owner driving it.
High Jetter Posted April 11 Posted April 11 I narrowly missed a very smart white Sierra Cossie today!
Wibble Posted Wednesday at 23:32 Posted Wednesday at 23:32 Delorean, with full Back to the Future spec, last night M3 London bound between Southampton and Winchester. Couldn’t take photo as I was on my own.
