44 yo Cadillac Coupe deVille = 1955 Cadillac Coupe deVille (win)

28 yo Rover 213 = 1968 Triumph 1300 (draw)

9 yo Chevrolet Tacuma = 1988 Vauxhall Astra estate (lose)

 

On balance, I'll take what I've got. 

 

My actual fleet at this point in 1997 consisted of just one car, my 1978 Volvo 244GL automatic (not including the estate I was using as a spares car).

The Volvo is my newest car and would have been 9 years old. So well into the old used car phase of life.

2017 sees me with a 37 year old Austin saloon and a 23 year old Rover saloon.

That probably puts me in a shabby, weirdly coloured 1960 Princess and a shiny red with vinyl roof (but small engine and manual gearbox) 1974 P6.  These are the closest examples I could find.

Actually, now you mention it, the Landcrab is a better fit.  Though I propose it be brush painted in Aconite rather than Black Tulip.  Not prepared to give up my fictional P6 for a Moggy though.

I'm inclined to think the Rover equivalent might have been a Triumph Dolomite, probably in 1300 or 1500 flavour.  Just a thought...

A black 1.9SD Xantia, P934RFB (a present to myself having had my tenure of a 1.9TXD BX cut far too short) while the wife was slumming it in the heirloom ZX (by far the better car) K335OHT. Sorry, to my knowledge no pics exist from these halcyon days.

 

At least, of the three green blooded Citroens I've had long term, the current one is proving the most reliable and yet is the oldest... Make of that what you will.

I think this is probably the closest to my MG ZT-T although they don't appear to have made the MG this late or as an estate.  Would take it though - I have always liked these and preferred the estate visually.  Back in the day a bloke I worked with swapped out of his 316 for an MG Montego and was very pleased - better performance, comfort, practicality and more gadgets, but don't tell the motoring press or TV.

Going from the oldest first:

 

1973 Datsun 1200 would be some ludicrously rare small Japanese car of the early 1950s. Very little to choose from as they weren’t building many cars then, maybe this? http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/HERITAGE/datsun_deluxe_sedan.html

 

1980 Datsun Laurel would be something biggish from 1960. Still no UK imports by that time, and there wasn’t a Cedric until 1961 so I’ll have to bend the rules and go for a Prince Skyline:

 

 

1988 Nissan Sunny means I can go back to 1968 which was when official UK imports began. To equate with mine being a hatchback, it would have to be this (neatly photographed 20 years ago):

My driveway currently has these 2

I suppose 20 years ago it would be a 504 estate and probably a 912 porsche as they were the unloved one of the time.

The Peugeot 204 and the Silver shadow would probably be the same 20 years ago. Back in 1997 my driveway was far more exciting as I had a Land Rover 110 and a Renault 25 V6 turbo.

The line up at the moment is 2x mk1 sierra 3 door, sapphire glsi, series 2 escort rs turbo and a mk3 1.6 capri laser so i think mine would be 2 base model mk1 cortina 2 doors, a mk2 cortina 4 door 1600e, a mk2 escort rs2000, mk1 capri 1.6
