There's a Bulgarian guy on YouTube called Crank that seems to repair a lot of M57 engines, and he's done a few on his channel now - it seems like these later M57s CAN snap the chains without warning at higher milages, but it's nowhere near as common as on the N47/N57. I probably still won't bother unless it gets noisy!

We took a family trip out in Miss SL's Avensis SR last night to record this:

Formerly of @BorniteIdentity who did most of the legwork in getting it this far. It gets used for work every day, trying to get it to 300k.

You're a few k ahead off me, 277500 at the moment. Also hoping to crack 300k

As I'm taking some time away from couriering this year the Caddy isn't getting out and about much, but it did click over another milestone the other day.

My Passat ticked over to a piffling 280k the other day, but this is a more interesting mileage

Highest we have had was the 59 plated C3  diesel Picasso that was Mrs T's largely work car. It only had about 145,000 on the clock, but as she was a Community Matron and then an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, and so it was all start stop. We got rid of it when Mrs T retired and it had a long list of advisories, none of which were engine related. Surprised by how much we got for it

Tonight the cursed XM celebrates 260,000 miles of being a big green bastard.

The amount of fuel I keep in it is directly proportional to my trust in the car.

Yer'll need to fill up after on the way to work if you're in the office tomorrow.

I’ve already resigned myself to chucking 3 gallons in it on the way home. If it’s extra well behaved, it may get a full tank next month.

My Dad's little Combo Van lives another year after a few Mot failures were sorted.  Super rare being a Combo C straight Pez too, never seen another.

Back when I bought my ex demo Combo D in 2017 I was looking for a Pez version, Combo or Partner/Berlingo, but there was literally none to be had.  I could order either new from the factory for full list prices, which would have cost about £4k more.  So I stuck with the usual Diesel.  Mines in for mot in the morning, doubt mine will get anywhere this mileage though. I’m hoping it’ll see me to retiremnet in 8years time, by which it’ll be on about 120k.

Currently smoking about in a courtesy car, 12 plate Honda Jizz with 195k on it. badermatic VTEC(YO) etc. Not as bad as you'd think. Funky RIMZ too, if I can work out how to do it (new PC) I'll post a pic.

As you say there wasn't many Pez vans on the used market pre ULEZ. When my Dad found his Combo for sale by chance in the local paper around 12+ yrs ago, he jumped on it.

It came with a full printed service history from the original company owner.  Not sure why they picked a Pez over a Derv, Vauxhall were offering the Duel Fuel version with the same 1.6 Pez engine at the time too.

They kept it Vauxhall main dealer maintained too, which had cost them in total over 10 yrs more than they paid for it New!

GLWTS  @Bmwdumptruck with the Mot too.

Only just spotted this thread, I'm a little down on my old record, but now have (temporarily) an extra 2 vehicles so it makes up for it.
Currently between the 4 a grand total of roughly 755,000 miles! 'new' getz is about 117k? (cant remember compeltely), old Polo is 158k (with FSH), Jaaag is 173k and the Caddy van is 307k (also with FSH!)! So an average of 188k per vehicle.

Previous average was a little higher. Van was 304k, Octavia was 275k (so thats 579k just between the two 1.9PD engines, and again, both with FSH) and the capri was 78k. So a lower overall total, but an average of 219k.

Then I get people asking me if they should buy a car with such "high" mileage of about 70k 🤣

Van passed with just advisories for pads getting low and rear tyres scrubbed. The tyres were on the front and are typical MK tyres, I’d swapped them to the rear and added a few pound extra so they should last till the next mot without getting much worse.  The pads I expected as this thing eats them, lucky to get 20k out of them.
