SD1 running costs are likely to be crippling, a P38 on pez is more the wrong side of devastating. But then tis only money

Those who want an SD1 will really want to get involved, but others - me, for example - wouldn't touch it with someone else's bargepole. A P38, on the other hand, is a daily driver, and in any case easily floggable if it turns out to be overly thirsty/doesn't fit on the driveway.

 

I don't think flogging an SD1 is a problem either.

My SD1 has been reliable and has had low running costs in 20 months of fairly frequent and sometimes daily use. It's a 2600 (Triumph engine rather good, I reckon), so will do mid 20s MPG if you don't loon off.

 

An SD1 could be ruinous if shonky, and SD1 V8 pez can be a bit yikes, albeit a fabby engine.

 

Would have to be a lot more than 20 sovs a go, though, so probably not a goer as a roffle.

 

Anyway, back to P38.  Looks super competent but well dull.  Neither need nor want, but sort of do.  Would it be OK to use it as a dumper truck?
