These or a FIAT based IVECO?

Now where have I seen a Bedford CF like that before…

Oh, one I made last summer!

Its actually a modern Fiat blue paint I used on that but it’s very close to the GM shade.

I had forgotten about Maudslay lorries.  I don't think I ever saw one back in the day, despite being able to recognise most British types once I'd reached the age of 7 around 1957 when some of these would surely have still been in service.

The Actros MP4 has been facelifted! I believe it's being sold as more of an aerodynamic option than a facelift (the old front is still available). Looks pretty neat imho.

Looks so sad, like it’s going to cry.

There used to be lots of gravel pits in East Yorkshire and I vividly recall these and similar 'W Clifford Watts' versions plying the roads. On pulling away with a full load the engines were so loud and bassy you could feel the sound in your stomach. They also billowed copious amounts of blue smoke - I guess they had 2 stroke diesel engines.

Incidentally W Clifford Watts are still with us and their red livery is almost unchanged -https://www.wcwatts.co.uk/index.php The gallery is worth a look for many period lorry photos - https://www.wcwatts.co.uk/Gallery.php?gid=0&page=1

It’s about time they did something with the mp5, they’ve been running that shape of Actros for over 10 years and while every other manufacturer has brought out more modern looking trucks, merc haven’t and it’s let them down a bit.

Still looks sad. I do like the grin from an iveco, even if it’s unreliable 😅

That's the same front used on the electric version. I guess it'll be an option for the diesels much like the original Volvo FH is still available alongside the Aero style.

Old BS6 got a bit acquainted with this 1956 Foden DG last week while I was at a drop in my modern Scania and got chatting to the owner of the Foden, very cramped cab, noisy Gardner 6LX and a 12 speed gearbox with 2 gear levers. I loved it though!

Lovely Foden,--i have been a Foden licker for more years than i can remember,i have driven a few,the highlight was delivering a brand new 8 legger with a 12speed epicyclic box! I was passenger in a mixer with a 2 stroke engine but never driven one.

Same for me Vantman, I’ve loved Fodens from a very young age and to me an S21 8 legger is as good as it gets. I’ve probably got just about every book published about Fodens in my collection. I was devastated when it all came to an end, and there was still demand from tipper and mixer operators in particular up to the demise of the Alpha series.

Nice line up, the Commer with twin headlamps is a Maxiload and would have a two stroke TS3 engine, the 2 single headlamp Commer’s are VC models and would have Perkins 6354 engines, I would hazard a guess that the BMC is a Laird.
