In Switzerland, saw something Brit-plated and modern with the number SN08 NOB.

Back in the day there was a proper tatty Rangie round here, with italic EEE 80Y plates. Theyre on a newer one now, or were last time i saw them. Reminds me of my old P.E and physics teacher, 'Chopper' Hobden. " EEEEE BOY, MIND THE OOOOJARS!"

Saw the numberplate RD RRR and below it has the phrase 'pirate texting.' I have no idea where it comes from, or even what car it was attatched to, but it was quite brilliant

The latter. he's 6 foot 5, and going out with a munter par excellence who's had a written warning about her personal hygiene (BO) after 18 separate complaints from other members of staff.

If I remember rightly he also had a warning buzzer wired up to reverse gear that played the theme tune from 'Popeye' whenever he backed it up.

 

I think it may have been scrapped now (the Micra). It was metallic blue with lots of pink decals and a massive 'Powered by fairydust' emblem on the tailgate.

You don't have to buy plates over here actually. The first 1, 2 or 3 letters refer to the city or 'Kreis', in this case BIT for Bitburg, the following stuff is your choice if desired, costs about €20, otherwise you get a random combination. BIT-CH may belong to a Christian Harman maybe, as many people choose their initials for their plates. Although DO-OM and DO-IT became quite popular recently...

Cool plates I've spotted today;

 

V111A FC on a shabby Rover 75 estate in Brum.

REM1X on a truck that appeared to be owned by Michelin.

V12 GLF on a DB9 that did, indeed, GLF.

 

Whilst crossing Germany the other week I spotted some good ones, but my favourite was a Seat Leon (I think) that had the plate AC NE 69.

Yes, the Aachen-pool offers a big variety of plates, a friend of mine has AC-DC70. Also quite popular AC-HT (for the number 8 ).

UP U 51R on a Range Rover,

A17 LFA on a Alfa 164 (This was prob about 10 years ago)

M4BYE on an old Cherokee

My Dad bought a Saab 9000 from a dealer who had A5 NEW on it.

There was a Pest Control van in Galsgow that read EXHUMER but I can't for the life of me work out how it worked (showed a bit of education though I thought!)

 

There's a fine line I think betwen a plate looking good and looking plain crap and I'm not sure where that line is tbh. I don't get "rude" ones, they're funny to see once but I'd just be embarassed driving a car with a plate like that on every day.

I always find expensive plates on cheap or basic cars interesting wondering what the history is as it usually tends to be that the plates been in the family for ages. There's a few like that round here like a 90s Honda Jazz with a 2 digit plate and 90s corolla with a 4 digit plate.

There is a gold 3 series cabriolet I have seen in Romford a couple of times with the reg T11 TSX displayed as TIITS X

 

Sadly I have yet to get a gander at the driver - she is either a propa' stunna' or a right horsemoose.........
