Hot wheel trims of the 1990s

I need a set of Nineties-kitsch 14in wheel trims for my Rodacar.

Ebay cannot provide any Austin Rover items that are the right sort of repulsive. The good shit seems to be exclusively 13in or 15in.

Have you ever been turned on by a widely-available 14in Nineties wheel trim? If so, please admit it here.

The fake Mondeo GLX trim always did it for me. Esp given the originals were so fragile. Other than that the type with the fake three spoke alloy was utter tasteless shit.

The ones that were faux BBS split rims took some beating for shit.

Added bonus for those anodised discs you could get to pretend your drums were discs.

Lets see a pic of the Rodacar

I don't have any to hand, but here are two filched from AROnline...

The Nineties Halfords Cool trims in these photos departed before I took ownership.

Caravan wheel trims are almost always 14" and often have a 90s flavour to them.

14" is getting ever more difficult to find.

It won't be long and it'll become hard to find tyres in 14".

its already happening mate, i was really limited on my choice of tyres in the correct size on the saph

Unfortunately they are make of rough hewn explodium plastic commonly found on Asian market cars and Dagenham market stalls.

Very good point ... 4 matching trims is over restoration at its very worst.....

I've had two sets of old trims delivered and both arrived broken! Rubbish packaging didn't help, but these things do get brittle with age.

These are a nice design. But they would look shit on a Maestro. Does that count?

This is your lucky* day. I meant to go to the tip today, but didn't have time. These genuine, well as genuine as those Rover ones, Audi 100 wheeltrims. They were on the Avant when I bought it, the giffer proudly informed me he'd binned the original ones about 10 years ago " To make it look a bit more modern"

I ripped them off and satin blacked the rims, the guy I sold it to declined the free wheeltrims, sunvisor pouch and icescrapermitt thing- some people!post-17414-0-83758200-1474311008_thumb.jpeg

Yours for £40 per set, Rimmer Bros would want that each- You're welcome .

Those in 15" cost more than e34 crosspokes. I'm looking for a set and it might be cheaper to buy a whole car rather than what eBay jokers want for nice ones.

These are on Preloved for £40 a set - pricey I know, but he reckons they're gen-you-whine MG Rover trims

Never seen them before, has he just plonked some Rover badges on Halfords specials?

Think those are SillyRover trimz.

Those were a bit good though - the holes in the steel wheels were strategically placed (and sized) to give every appearance that the wheels were alloy.

TBH, if you are going for an authentic 90s look, you shouldn't have 4 should you?

AMC Rebel the steel wheels without the trims on werent hideous either, i remember admiring the ones on my dads g plate 1.6L when i was 13, every month i used to take the same wheeltrims pictured off and clean inside and clean the steel wheel behind them while washing the car, then leave them off and polish them after i polished the car, i should of realised at an early age that i had a problem
