All the bits I ordered have arrived.

The wing mirror glass looks like a pain to fit in the dark- May try it tomorrow.

The gear gaiter just looks plain wrong- should have a widder top to fit the gearknob and also be elasticated to fit into the groove

Luckily the dipstick holder fitted nae bother so that was a win:)

A little bump up for this..

I've not done much recently-trying to get a myriad other things sorted, but I have been slowly gaining parts..

A spare hubcap has been acquired and there is a complete passenger mirror on the way..

I'mma ask re how to protect the bloody thing afore the winters too

Started this after a month off. First turn of the key and a most pleasant amble into the work this morning..

2nd tank of fuel in tonight I must have been "enjoying" it slightly more..

403.2 miles, 53.25L so 34.42mpg

My semi-regular trot down to Dumfries was rudely interrupted by a flashing coolant warning light this morning..

Thankfully this happened Before I availed myself of the m74 southbound..

A split in the header tank return pipe was the source of the steam.

I used all my resourcefulness to craft a "2 fingers from a later glove, plus cable ties" resolution, which held for the 75 miles to Dumfries.

A length of fuel hose and Some rerouting sorted it before the return journey.

I saw the thread title and thought for a minute you were getting rid of this fine and rare beastie. Glad it's the job you're changing instead :-)

beko dreams of non shit car :D

Nah. I like working on cars, I treat my cars as rolling projects! That's what fucks with non car people! "but why would you want to spend all weekend doing this to it for?"

Because I like doing it and don't do it enough!

Anyway, says the guy who came to sf17 with a car where all the doors didn't open...

I used to think I liked working on cars but it gets tiring when the car you rely on every day needs constant tinkering.

Last Commute to Sterling was KLF's most recent album, wasn't it?

You're confusing that with Davidfowler2000's epic 2015 hit

The AS solution to this is simple : just buy more cars !

That's for rich autoshiters who can afford to tax, insure and maintain* multiple cars.
