Check me out being helpful there.

I might not be any use at diagnosing fuel system faults but I do have an AA card.

AA ETA 11:45.

Joe might know this already but Japanese injection pumps have a gauze inside the inlet the banjo bolt, worth a try.

Aye. Joe on Ceri's phone here.

There's that and one under the stop solenoid too. But fuel getting in no bother and no starvation symptoms. Nothing reaching injector lines. Not a cough. Just bollox.

C15 is in the arena for judging...

^ This.  The judges refuse to besmirch their eyeballs by even looking at our cars.

That's the best thing about Chumley, irritating the commentator bloke.  At this point last year he was calling the assembled crowd a bunch of useless lazy bastards (I'm paraphrasing slightly) for not having enough entries in the commercials section, when the invitation specifically said no commercials...

I had a ticket for this but after a long week in work I couldn't face the grim weather, seeing that pink mk5 escort winning 'best of 90's' again, and that bellend's constant banter over the tannoy. They desperately need a fresh face to host it, he irritates everyone.

If you need a hand with anything Joe (tools etc), I'm not far (25 miles).

I did lob my ticket in the post to you Ceri, obviously didn't make it.

Perhaps the postie is there instead!

Due to me being completely incompetent I am missing all the fun*. It would normally be too far for me to even think of going, but I am travelling up to Nantwich tomorrow and had I had any sense could have combined the two by travelling up today, oh well never mind maybe next year.

Instead I shall be painting a fuel tank which, again owing to incompetence, is now going to be silver instead of black as I ordered the wrong colour paint, still it's unlikely anyone will notice unless I run over them, in which case they will probably have other things to worry about.

We all had a good laugh about the "Corsa" last year, but it did rather demonstrate that he had already decided who was going to win and wasn't going to be deflected by a trifling matter like the car not showing up.

If you look closely the guy in the white cap is either chewing on a wasp or is warming up for the giffers gurning competition later.

The AA are having a busy day. I'm currently in an AA van after the 600 shat a drive shaft seal. Left a trail of oil right through the site...

At the risk of stating the obvious, at least it didn't happen in France!

Oh shit. Sounds like cholmondley was a bad omen for some. I'm bleeding glad I didn't come. With my luck I dread to think what happened

Posted

Only two AA calls, a couple of minor FTPs fixed on site, one accident in the ring and a victory in car of the show robbed from the beige Acclaim. So not too bad!

As long as there are no casualties on the way home...

Posted

Said accident was me reversing Junkman's 405 into brownnova's MX5 while trying to make space for a Calibra Turbo to manoeuvre. No harm done (I hope?!).

It's been bloody farcical. An hour spent trying to rescue my 600 after it tried jumping off the towing dolly. Chassis rail bent, possible sill damage too. Less than ideal.

That 405 is developing a worrying enthusiasm to smash into MX5s lately.

Anyway, home is achieved with no further incidents worth mentioning.
