Mr Cavcraft, have you ever been to South West Florida?

Posted

No, but if it's an invitation I hope you've got nice tits.

Been offered a Mk3 Mondeo 2.0 auto for it so far, knocked that back.

You fucking lunatic!

That's possibly a negotiation for another time.

On a back road between Cape Coral and Punta Gorda, there's a 'Ford' TR7 that hasn't moved for Donkey's years, every year I drive past it, I remark to Mrs S that nobody's daft enough to ever go near it and she always replies, 'don't be so sure'.

I feel you have proven her Women's intuition to be correct.

It would be a lovely addition to your collection and make for a most interesting collection thread, would you like me to put in a word?

^^^^ is it bad I like the wheels on that?

As to the Midget, just realised it's the same age as the one I had. Mine leaked in the axle area, filled up the door posts & leaked out into the car. I did the obvious & drilled holes in the bottom...

If its got the 1275cc engine they are highly sought after nowadays for Morris Minor upgrades.

Better :-)

Swap it for a Citroen AX?

Just let me remove the engine, gearbox, interior and some other bits first.

My aim is to bombard the 'for sale' section until some bugger caves in and agrees lol.

The moar awake of you may have noticed this already ;) ;)

Glad I don't live in South West Florida for a number of reasons, one of which is that I'd now own a Ford TR7 if I did.

Posted

I'll be there in October, assuming the owner doesn't 'Go Postal On My Ass', I'll put in a bid for you Vulgal, it's a thing of beauty right enough.

Sure thing!  I just need your bank account details for an unrelated matter.

There's an excellent Corvette museum up the road at Punta Gorda that also restores/sells classics.

They had a TR7 for sale last time I was there.

Although sadly it was of the more common Triumph variety, it did feature the more desirable* wire wheels.

The point is that I would feel more confident with one of us getting one of these the 4500 miles back to Blighty, than Cavcraft getting that thing off the drive in one piece.

Oh wow, yellow, automatic, wire* wheels, boot luggage rack.  It's got all the classic flatcap accessories you could want!  It's probably against the law to drive this and not be wearing a paisley cravat and stringback gloves.

It appears to be Ford powered.... which can only be a good* thing. Says V6 Turbo, not sure which engine that'd be, or whether it's ever been for sale over here.

If it's an Essex or a Cologne derivative, bits are no bother.

I want it. I HAZ t-CUT

There's only one possible new owner for this one, and we both know who that is! ;)

What value did they place on the Mongdeo and whats it like, have a m9 who is potentially after one, though he'd probably prefer a manual and a Mk2...

Looks like I might be the only person who thinks you'll do alright out of this. Someone will surely snap it up as a parts car or summat, especially as it seems to look less horrific in photos than you describe the reality as.

I do know absolutely nothing though.

T Cut it and lob it on eBay as barn find/resto project. You know it makes sense.

I'm not sure on the VALU soz, but when I checked I think the tax was £168 for six months, or something daft like that.
