FIAT Seicento Sporting £50!

This is clearly never going to get done and is taking up valuable garage space.

(Ex-KruJoe) 2001 Seicento Sporting

MOT 18th June

On SORN (but I can tax it (extra cost) if needed

Suspect head gasket gone, Joe said it often didn't start too, but it did when I tried it last week and in fact fired up first time.

If you're smart you could probably get it home free of charge before the MOT expires ;)

(awful pictures to follow)

IN YELLOW, BEST COLOUR

£99?

*NOW £50*

Chester.

If you sit in it I could probably be persuaded to tow it back within 15 miles or something for a fair price, but bollocks to going through the tunnel (sorry Scousers) with it.

Would even consider a swap for a cycle of some sort.

Anyone want it for £50? Must be worth more in bits.

If I was closer I could probably be tempted, amazingly.  Good thing I'm not!

Me too, my wife loved her Cinquecento when she had one.

Probably doesn't look quite as good now, but there you go. I've advertised it elsewhere and have had the usual 'can I come and view it' stuff from people who you never hear from again.

That looks a wee cracker.

This might be a gift-horse/mouth moment, but can you see anything obviously likely to fail it?  Welding?  Tyres?  A terrible plan is forming....

This looks bloody marvelous for the money.........not my bag to be fair, but somebody get it bought, do the head gasket, and give it to a girl you fancy who has just passed her test. The rewards could be many............

If I didn't already have a Panda with the same problem half way through an engine swap I'd consider it!

The temptation to lob 50 quid in Midget fund and get a Seicento in return is high! I bet it would probably drive as far as mine too...

I have a couple of unused push bikes in the shed, just the other side of the tunnel. Unfortunately what do I want a Fiat for again ?

On the plus side it's yellow.

Wife would kill me. Literally.

Enquiries were made but I can't insure this reasonably ('sporting' badge probably). Shame as I like it and can afford it.

Having a bit of fun with this elsewhere. 'It's only worth £20 for scrap, I'll take a chance for £40' a private message asking what my best price is (advertised for £75, told them my best price was £75) they then offered me £50, so I just said '£75' again and they said they weren't interested. The same person then did that '???' thing after a few questions and wants to know if it drives ok.

Now, I'm NOT complaining here, it's par for the course and if it bothered me that much I'd just jib it. You make your bed and all that. Still, my message box is pinging again, this could be fun....

Shame, if this was £100 I'd have been all over it.

I think you should be advertising it on Gumtree for £750, with a promise to get a local specialist to do the head gasket if you get the full asking price or £250 as is.

Do like to rot out at the rear seat belt / wheel arch area though...

Not a Fiat person but these are ok.

£50 for a full entire motor car???

These things were going for good money not that long ago.

The Hgf (if that is indeed what is wrong) will be epically easy to fix. You could even chuck in a panda engine, or a stilo engine if your brave!

I have absolutely no idea why you haven't already sold this. I have as many cars as I can manage at the moment. But seriously this is a mega easy project fixer ..... When I last saw it at castle krujoe, it was a really tidy little motor for what it is!

If a hgf repair is putting people off it really shouldn't. A full head skim is about £30 and all the gaskets, bolts and belts surely can't be more than £100 at full price for one of these.

The longest a head gasket change has ever taken me is 2 days working on my own cars ... I think it is a really simple job and this would be perfect for someone to learn how to change a head gasket.

Took me 8 weeks to fix omg hgf on the Reliant :(

K-seal and an RAC card could be worth a go. I think these are 4x98 stud pattern so the chances of me having steel wheels to put on if it scrap it are slim.

CTB have offered £40 and obvs I can keep the battery etc, but what a waste that would be.

This is nuts! The tyres for these things are near as be damned 50 quid a corner... for nankangs! 50 quid!!! Someone save it. I was going to buy one brand new in 1999, for 6k! Bought a 10 year old honda crx instead! (Was mint and nearly 4 grand at the time)!!

I have a sad notion of trying to find a mint Schumacher special edition and putting it away (175/40/14 tyres at over a ton a corner)!!

'Did you sell the car?'

No

Three hours later...

'I will have it'

'What's the reg number so I can check insurance'

'What makes u think gasket has gone?'

'Will it drive back 35 miles?'

All from the same person saying they buy scrap cars and will collect anytime.

Some of the idiots on bumtree can be funny at times!!

I'd my pride and joy vectra gsi for sale around five years ago. Fella claiming to be a local who knew of me and it (didn't know him at all) told me he had to have it. Car was up for £1,200. He tried his damnest to get me to swap for a mitsy fto, he continued to explain that it was in good condition with some wanky body kit. He further added he had trouble selling it. I explained I'd no intention of doing a deal as such. I'd already purchased an S3. He persisted for a couple of days! He was further confused as to why I wasnt interested, even with the knowledge that I'd already purchased a new (to me) car. The tirade of abuse that followed was unreal! Told me the gsi was scrap anyway, was only worth £500, and that I could stick it up my arse!!! Nice fella!

You have 100% always had a great result with a loser when they say 'it's shit anyway' or 'fuck you then, I was going to turn up with the full asking price in cash in the morning'

Hate those cunts - "any scrap cars wanted" when they mean "any retail ready cars with 12 months MOT and no faults I can buy for £4 and put straight up for sale"
