Ok, it won't tow 1500kg but for £450 and a long test it looks very Japanese.

Here's another old Nissan which is similarly lightweight, so buy both and double-head them when necessary - it's more enviromentally friendly than permanent 4wd.

I'm sure* you could find a towbar for this 4x4 - not bad value at £1750?

Scooby nice to drive, but a bit juicy and parts are a bit dear, like self levelling shocks.

Prairie is an awful lot of win. Drove Ratdat's on Saturday and really liked it. He rates them as tow cars too...

Is that not the Prairie that RatDat recently walked ran away from?

Given how well he's on top of the UK Prairie scene, that's entirely possible!

The ad mentions it's had sills, so they could well be badly bodged.

A Delica would make mucho sense if you're dragging other chod about for the magazine. Plus veg-ability, even though you don't.

It is the one Ratdat 'bought' on Ebay. Sounds absolutely hopeless. Not bad, but the seller sounds best avoided. That's two disasters I've avoided tonight so far then!

A customer offered me a Xedos 9 the other day and I still have his number. It probably wasn't a great deal as he had just been quoted a grand to tidy it up at the body shop.

So, in this round of Dollywobbler Buys a Car who's running the sweepstake?  I've got cash* waiting here to put on a heavy oil Montego as the petrol Japanese car DW wants.

I think the Xedos 9 is probably too new.

No. It WILL be Japanese! Unless desperation really sets in and I need a new tow car immediately.

I'm sure this one was old enough as I did consider buying it, N reg IIRC.

What about a Honda Crossroad? ;)

If you could find one a Nissan QX might float your boat.

Ask yourself, how many seats do you *really* need?

Toyota Carina II diesel.

If the answer is FOUR then I've got that covered too.
