fordperv Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I have just seen this on the Capri laser page, i only know it's a 5 door hatch from the reg checker, Hi guy's, I know it's not a Capri but a friend has asked me to put on here that his Red 1989 Ford Sierra 2000GLS MK2 was stolen from off his driveway in the early hours of this morning in Nottingham. The reg number is G192 WMC. It is a very clean car had a tow bar. Can you please share this on other car forums you go on please. Thanks. Tom. I have asked for pictures of the car http://fordcapriforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=49869&p=336814&sid=d16cc29bcfe20e175bdc492a4c6e6c07#p336814 Keep em peeled
Dick Cheeseburger Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Ffs. Three guesses where that'll end up. Hang 'em by their gentlemen's area. It's time parliament allowed private car owners to plug the bodywork of their vehicles into 240v when parked on private land. oldcars, trigger and Craig the Princess 3

Guest bangerfan101 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Should you care to point the finger our way. Sierras are the most worrying cars I've ever seen race. They bend awkwardly and have never been a good banger. In fact in the last 5 years I can probably think of a handful iv seen race. More likely it's been nicked for parts for the kit car market DeeJay, Partridge, outlaw118 and 4 others 7
garbaldy Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 /\ True and also Include the escrote guys as I'm now finding out just how hard it is to find pintos and five speed gearbox's
vulgalour Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 There's a lot of Fords going missing lately, in particular Escorts, Capris, Cortinas and Sierras. It likely has far more to do with the values of them and how easy most of them are to steal - because security isn't increased in line with their perceived value - than it has with any other community. What's surprising about this one is that it wasn't stolen from or near Kent which seems to be a bit of a Ford stealing hotspot this year. fred and reanimation-films 2
Angrydicky Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Very sad - my friend's one didn't turn up, although he got his Escort Cosworth wheels back after they were painted pink and sold on to someone who put them on ebay. He went along and identified them as his from the tyres - the bloke obviously knew they were dodgy as he gave them up without a fight. He was given the name of a well known dodgy character in the local Ford scene who owns a Sierra and has a yard near Basildon where he suspects it went, however he didn't want the hassle, after the insurance had paid out and this bloke knew where he lived.
fordperv Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 My personal view is it will head it's way over to Ireland or get stripped, the only use a sierra would be on the oval is in lightning rods Whoever stole it needs wiring to the mains by their genitals

There was a place like that in Leicester years ago, it burned to the ground one night. I think the Police had about 2000 suspects. Angrydicky 1
Guest bangerfan101 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 That mill that burnt to the ground in Bradford last month or so. Well the bloke that is behind the local range rover barrying outfit had his unit there. A unit full of alloy wheels were melted back to beer cans in minutes. Best thing is the chap wasn't insured purplebargeken and Ghosty 2

SambaS Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I'm sure there's a Sierra only race at Barford near me as the lad who bought my Cossie was joking about taking it there.
Pillock Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Very sad, I papped this in Nottingham only a few weeks ago. I shall share on Facebook in case any local bods see it reanimation-films 1

Felly Magic Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 There does need to be stiffer penalties for car thieves. Utter lowlife pond scum. I do hope it turns up oldcars, Partridge and strangeangel 3
CortinaDave Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Regardless of the purpose it's been stolen for, it's absolutely not on. I do think they need to look at the penalties for car theft. The scumbags know they'll likely just get a lowish fine or slap on the wrists IF they get caught, and as plod prefer to spend most of their time on easy targets like speeders, they know even that is unlikely. Should be jail time. I reckon that'd put a lot off. EssDeeWon and Partridge 2
Guest bangerfan101 Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 I can recall a Sierra getting followed in by a saab 99 at Blyton about 1998 ish when they were still pretty wob free newish cars. The bulkhead shit it's self resulting in the front end bending downwards at the a pillar and the steering wheel stood a good foot out of the windscreen and the gear box snapped off at the bell housing. Took marshals an st John's a while to get the drivers feet out of the pedal box / seat mechanism and into an air ambulance. Horrible crash. Hope the cars returned. but still. I can't see it getting bangered
fred Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Most now are stripped for parts and flogged for much profit, the rest flogged on to banger boys Price of scrap is dead, so the tossers are nobbing easy to nick motors for cash now . Its getting quite endemic with all sorts of makes being taken

Its getting quite endemic with all sorts of makes being takenAs usual its the banger boys who are getting the blame. There are good and bad in all walks of life and banger boys are no worse than some of the shady characters who inhabit the classic car and historic rallying scene. Some of the most frequently stolen vehicles are mk1/mk2 escorts, veedubs and series landrovers. When was the last time you saw one of them going round the Oval. Urko Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Some banger racers helped me get some parts for my AMC - they were very cagey as they expected me to hate them - very sad. They were sound and decent guys who devoted a lot of time and effort to banger racing. It's a shame in a way they were going to race the AMC, but at least I got some bits off it, and it was just about dead anyway. Sad that everyone doing it gets a bad name just because of a small minority. danthecapriman, primeradoner, fordperv and 1 other 4
Split_Pin Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Don't some banger racers actually have mint and cherished versions of some of the cars they race? I do hope this Sierra is found, seems kind of a strange one to steal. Any Escort up to MK4, MK1 or 2 Fiesta, Cortina or 3 door Sierra I could understand. Perhaps it has an MT 75 gearbox? plasticvandan Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 A friend of mine fused to be a sausage racer, his mission till he stopped was to tasks the least sensible car out.how he survived using the fiat 126 I will never know.

Angrydicky Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Great news, hopefully it wasn't too badly damaged.
fordperv Posted April 8, 2016 Author Posted April 8, 2016 Any story behind it's recovery? No story of its recovery or its returning condition yet
Felly Magic Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Fingers crossed it isn't too bad, social media does have it's purpose sometimes, making stolen cars simply too hot to handle
