We seem to have a few Visa s on here now and some past ones, I will show you mine if you show me yours!

I will kick of with the most famous Visa in the UK! It is regularly seen out and about and lives in the Midlands but if you are Dutch and need a yellow Visa for your banana themed show display it will drive over to Holland for you!

Mine around 1988. Not a very good one. P-exch against a 2 year old Mastro Auto when I couldn't quite bring myself to swap it for an A-plate Visa 650 in red. Error.

My interest in Visas started with a road test in CAR magazine, late'79 or early '80 which featured this photo by Ian Dawson.

A couple of my old Visa from the mid 90s when the BBC came to film a drama in my street.

Not a Visa.

Doesn't someone else on here have an Oldshit as well?

Here's mine again:

The third car I ever bought, after a Y-reg Escort van (the front of which is visible in the pic) and a B-reg Mini Mayfair.  It was a B-plate 14TRS - I paid £40 for it in 1999 with 3 months' test but a noisy camshaft.  Still drove nicely though.  First car I ever owned with an intermittent wiper.

Boom!

I remember my first proper girlfriend had a mustard yellow Metro which was registered 'KAN 166W'. Which was nice.

Anyway, back to Visas. I broke an LNA for my boss in the early 90s, if that counts.

Did your Visa manage to get into the TV program?

Unfortunately not, but the Primera you see was "owned" by the main character. The next day it turned up for the shoot having been shunted, so it posed a bit of a continuity problem as they couldn't find a similar one.

I have a similar scan from a 1981 issue of CAR.

Thanks for the road Test Trig, I thought I could drive my 652 cc flat out on the motorway but I seems I can exceed the limit by 5.8 mph!

Interesting that it mentioned the possibility of locking up the rear brakes. I remember George Bishop of Car magazine mentioning the same thing happening on his diesel Visa.Once I did some work on the brakes of my Super E and found a nice wide deserted piece of road outside a factory and slammed the brakes on whereupon the car swopped ends.Seems from the test that they all do it.

I have done quite a lot of miles in Visas and never had that problem.

I think every 40s, 50s and 60s Ford I've owned (Pilot, Pop, 100E and Anglia) has had brakes like that in standard trim. It might just be a now-outdated brake setup, whereas it's now known to be preferable to have more bias to the front and have the fronts lock slightly before the rears.

I have also seen the Yellow one in the flesh when collecting some parts on my way to the NEC one year.

Heres a photo of mine:

Back in the histories of time before I got to drive the dealer Visa GTi 115 demo car I left my first Citroen dealer but remained friends with the MDs daughter. I wanted to take her out but had arrived in my Triumph Vitesse MK2 convertible at her house, she wanted me to go home get my new modern with the Job Volvo 340GLE 1.7 saloon before we went out because the Triumph was too cold and rattley. I wanted to drive the Triumph on this sunny afternoon but could see the black Visa GTi on the drive I had never got to drive.

I offered her a deal, I would drive a modern car if she could persuade her farther to lend us the Visa GTi! I guess daughter and fathers but the keys to the shinny black Visa GTi 115 were soon placed in my hand and I had a hoot for the afternoon testing it!

That memory has stayed with me and I have always seen the GTI as the ultimate Visa road car. Mike the owner of the yellow MKI 652cc also has this GTi as part of his perfect pair!

I have found three red B reg Visa convertible that are believed to be current cars. There is also a picture of a another red one where you can't see if it's B reg or not.

Update - I have checked these cars and the only MOTed one is B71 RJF.
