I can't remember the last Saturday when the internetz were not alive with rumours of desperate journeys in search of appalling chod.   Bad news for pez stations and retailers of Ginster's Buffet Bar of SHAEM, but at least the AA dudes get a lie in.

I enjoy the collection threads, but my own favourite Autoshite thread type is definitely the resto/running thread, filled to bursting as they are with the boggling diversity of ways people's old chod can stumble - and the genius of artful bodging shown by some posters, or the incredible skills demonstrated by others. And above all, peoples tireless efforts overcoming weather, rusty bolts and lack of parts supply with sheer bloody mindedness - on cars which most people would simply scrap. They struggle to get the page views on here and tend to sink down the AS front page pretty quickly, which is a shame I think. I like collection threads, but they're not the heart of Autoshite for me.

I am hopefully off to collect a motor.   Starter motor, haha.   Due to DPD being wankers (see appropriate thread) I now have to "borrow" one from a mate a few miles away.  Collection might be on Pashley treader with bungy strap owing to Morris being ramped and starter undone to facilitate quick replacement - I should have waited for DPD to actually not fuck off with my new one but hey ho...
