Quick dash to change trains, luckily the southern border guards didn't check me for whippets, flat caps and northern cheeky charm.

That's because you're still 'up country'.  Anything north of Bristol is.  Do keep up, you'm in Devon soon and must adjust your view of the UK slightly.  Anything over 20 miles is 'travelling' and visiting other counties that are not Cornwall is a big, exciting event.

Like the watch.  That's going to raise a few eyebrows in Devon too though, my lover.

So are ye coming to Devon, or no?

I once met an old dear from St Just who'd never been north of Truro. She was mighty terrified.

OT: But this just reminded me of when I was in Shetland, I met an old bloke and I asked if he'd ever been South, "ei" he replied, "I once went to Sumburgh (Southern tip of Shetland) I didn't like it, so haven't been back".

Good luck Moog.

Ringo the dog has joined me on the epic journey. His first time on the train, instantly becoming the most loved passenger in the carriage

Mmm suet pudding.

Chippies round here look at me oddly when I ask if they do steak & kidney puddings.

Many thanks for the northern goodies, they'll be put to good use! I wasn't expecting that case behind the wheelie bin either!

I forgot about the college finishing at that time, I'm seldom ever home at that time of day, all the buses congregate on that hill but at least they don't hang around.

Hope your journey goes well, the Starlet seems very capable so should make short work of the trip home.

Those trims will have to be ditched before it's motor racing debut. Too much drag. They'll cost you a good 0.000001 mph at least. Which is probably 10% of the Harlot's top speed.

Finally back

As for the car.. It is lovely. Drives like a K11 Micra but better on motorway and pretty swift off the line. I enjoyed driving it home.

Did 285 miles to just under 3/4 a tank doing between 70-80mph.

Gearing is such that at 80 it is doing 4k rpm.

Thanks to Phil and Phil.

They might be resting in the shed very soon.

Glad it's made it back ok . I'm missing the old girl already . Even with so many cars at my disposal it was nearly always the go to car for my commute .

Customers used to turn their noses up at it cos of how it looked but always remarked how well it drove . Keep me updated with its usage !
