Sorry if this has been done before but I have not seen a thread yet.

Is there anybody from here going to Pride of Longbridge this year?

I am going to be going up in my 800 and hopefully meet up with some of you guys.

As above sorry if this has been said before

Considering the trip in my ZT. After all it's a Longbridge car and I have never been before.

All depends on prior commitments and stuff, if we are lucky both me and vulgalour will attend :)

Need more details as to entry and event stuff though

Its a free entry event, Basically park in the park opposite The gates and go round and look at a few thousand different old cars.

I don't know what I'm doing next week never mind the 16th of April,  there is a link to email on here http://www.austinlongbridgefederation.co.uk/if you would like to display a car.

I might wander along if I'm not too busy with something else.  It would be good if we could be a bit more organised this year, it seems to be a prime event for a dozen shitters to turn up at without spotting each other.

Is that when it is this year, April 16th?  Bollocks!  It's my birthday and I'll be away.  I was hoping it would be on a weekend I could go, so I could take Hyacinth.  Never mind....

I was thinking about this the other day, I'd like to go again but hopefully in the Longbridge CLASS.

If not then I probably won't bother.

Ill be going along .... usually do and now haz 75

It doesn't strictly have to be a Longbridge car either, as long as it's a crusty old BLARG you can bumble in and park up.

Question is really how many shiters own a Longbridge motor? Could we display as a group? WCPGW??

I've got a Rover 114 GTA with a knackered head gasket ☺

Tempting to take it in the trailer to try and sell it!

Went a couple of years ago in the Standard. Not built there obviously but not too far away and it does have loose links to Rover. It got some interest anyway

We could hitch the trailer up to the Disco for added BL/ARness,  you would have to drive it though.

I want to go but I am dependent on borrowing a "Longbridge car", last year I managed to borrow a MG TF but my freind has now sold that.

Went a few years ago (before I owned BL crap) and didn't really enjoy it. Dull line-ups of Rover 25s with old blokes sitting in fold-up chairs giving evils to young lads in chavved-up MG ZRs.

I might be tempted to give it another go if there's some sort of AS corner, though.

Would have gone in my ZT-T last year, but predictably spent the day mending the cooling fan. May go this year if I have actually done the engine repairs or swap by then (nothing stopping me except straightforward laziness)

Could be a nice day to try out my new flat cap and tiny cushions on the parcel shelf of the Maestro, built during BAE ownership.

Still can't get my head around cars I grew with being in shows though.  Is it bad form to put a Fore Sail sign in the window?

I would prefer to corrupt the event by turning up in a Ledbury micetro though!

Posted

I wouldn't mind giving this a go in the Dolomite but I'll have to see nearer the time.

Posted

Not strictly a Longbridge car, but I might pitch up in the SD1.

Depends a bit on a. what else is going on in April and b. my ability to finish rewiring the tailgate (electricity is not my strong point).

Last year my friend put his MG TF up for sale and sold it at the event. Luckily the buyer did not have his money with him so I still got to drive it home but overtook him on the M40 in his new car!

I'll be there. God only knows what I will end up taking this year, probably the Montego.

You'll instantly spot me, the grumpy bastard moaning about the twat crew in Zeds.

Posted

I doubt as if I'll be arsed to go tbh, don't think I'll be driving the Sterling by then.

Why???????

It looks a fine way to travel, surely the rad can be sourced cheaply enough?

Hopefully I will have my Austin 7 by then and will turn up like some 1960s pauper in his old banger.

Yes ,I plan to go in Brian the 25 and Display with the 200/400/25/45 Club . :-D

No need to book in ,just turn up after 10

My Favourite BLARG event , A  lot of people call this a show. That is wrong ,It is a celebration  for the longbridge factory and the cars which came out the factory .which makes it ideal for people who do not show cars because of all the faff. 8)

I think his is scods better than the snooty show in Peterborough who just seem interested in selling cakes

:-(

I went in Brian the 25 last year and parked with former AR Online ed Craig Cheetham . over 1200 cars went last year and 10k people visited  Not bad for a free event :-P

This year is  years from the first POL in 2006 so should be on everybody's calendar :-D

See You there 8)

Well, I was planning to get my Merc fixed in the few months, the KV6 would either be scrapped, stored or most probably lent to another shiter (who called dibs on borrowing it) depending on how things go. I may or may not have enough money to get the 820E on the road by then.

I may go, I may not. I may well get dragged into going anyway, car or no car ;)

I could be tempted to go, the ZT should hopefully be sold by then, so it may have to be the wife's bubble dizzler.

I saw all sorts last year non british stuff aswell.

As said I was wrong to call it a show. It was elequently put that its a celebration.

Last year had a lovely atmosphere.

My dad and I were both in our 75 launch cars last year. Mine had the gopro stuck to the roof. We will be taking my 800 vitesse this year as a change.

Perhaps sooner to the time we could put a list of names and hopefully meet somewhere. Even maybe have an autoshite corner??

You may find that an Autoshite pitch ends up on its own,as the other groups relocate to another email part of the field, ala Chumley. ......

Yes, I'd like to come along this year as I've never been to this one before.

Can't go anyway as something else on that weekend.....Shame as I would like to have set up a Cowley camp so everybody can boo and hiss like the Germans at WW2 re-enactments.
