There is little to no difference in the real world economy of both V6s.

 

The greatest gain is made by swapping automatic for manual.

BorniteIdentity - I agree there, but the manuals have chocolate clutch hydraulics. Autos are far longer-lived, and tbh suit the car more.

I have previous owned 2 of these in 1.8 form, an automatic which was a little slow and a manual which was almost as slow, so this should be..... not quite as slow. These are just so well resolved in design terms both inside and out that I can't resist another so 2 random numbers please.

I'm sure it's lovely being ex-Captain Slow.  Obviously, since I've got 3 cars (only one working) at the moment what I need in my life is the opportunity to acquire a fourth.  The seats do look like a particularly nice place to be too.
