Almost a year ago to the day, I won the auction for the 760TIC on eBay. Today I have decided that due to recent fleet changes (of the enormous, yellow variety) that some extra cash flow wouldn't go a miss so I am going to offer it for sale.

 

I paid £700 for it back then and it got £758 of work to get through the last MoT so I'd like to see £700 back for it. I'll put it up for ROFFLE RAFFLE at £12 a ticket but if anyone wants to buy it outright then send me a PM.

 

Anyways, some details:

 

Make - Volvo

Model - 760 Turbo Intercooler

Engine - B230ET 2.3 Turbo

Beergocks - ZF 4 speed fully automatic with lockup

MoT - 18th June 2016

 

Condition - Cosmetically tatty but not unsaveable. Mechanically good. Timing and aux belts done not long before I got it.

 

Work for MoT (not all for MoT but done anyways) : Various control arms bushes, N/S track rod and both ends, ARB droplinks, new handbrake cable and all fittings, main beam not latching on, battery clamp, N/S and O/S ball joints, power steering fluid flush, brake fluid flush, F/O/S jack point repaired, oil leak at filter housing, air cleaner box cleaned out, PCV system serviced.

 

Other work I've done - Oil change + filter, Air filter, All new injectors, New thermostat, Coolant flush, New brakes and discs all round + new handbrake shoes and fitting kit. Turbo 'egg-crate' grille fitted.

 

Remaining niggles :

Heaters not burning hot (suspect heater matrix needs backflushed).

Water loss at water pump (needs new seals / gasket. Pump is good).

Not showing full boost on boost gauge - Manual boost control fitted but overboost kicks in if it's set too high. Engine pulls well though.
Heated seats not working. One heated door mirror not working. Air Con not working - R12 - Try regassing that!

Driver's electric seat adjust switches flimsy but I can demonstrate how to work them without breaking them.

1 x number plate light out.

Saggy headlining.

Collection:

Car lives approx 10 miles outside Glasgow city centre. Pick up will be arranged / available from any of the transport hubs (train / bus / plane). It will also have a full tank of fuel on collection which should be good for about 350-400 miles. I may be willing to meet half way somewhere as long as it's near a ScotRail or Northern train station so I can get home for £0.

I missed this first time round.  Put me down for two (and have another bump).

 

Was well impressed with the 6-cyl SVM Volvo Experience at Shitefest and this might make a pleasing change from the Discovery, while being just as useful.  Mrs S tells me she's grown very fond of the Disco though, so something else would have to go.  Or I'll donate it to someone else if I win.  Or something.

I sold a Volvo estate to the SVM and they tried to mate it with a bus.  Perhaps I should have one of theirs to redress the balance?

Well I do already have a Swedish estate car with a 2.3 turbo engine and a towbar.

I don't need any more cars, nor do I have anywhere to put one.

On the other hand...

It's a Volvo, with the correct gearbox, neither of which applies to the Saab.
