scaryoldcortina Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 How about a facelift Cortina Mk 3 GT 2 door?,I haven't seen one for years. Probably because all the survivors got rung up as prefacelift ones to claim free road tax. fordperv 1
Guest Renault20tx Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 6, 8,10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20. None of them officially extinct, but if any are being used as everyday cars, I would be surprised.........possibly the odd 18 might just buck the trend. 4, 5, 9, 11, 21, 25, Fuego more plentiful At least 2 examples of the 30 still used as everyday transport. Citroen LNA is another. I fancied I saw one on a roundabout in Bristol back in 2002, but it turned out to be a Talbot Samba..... binhoker668 1
Guest Renault20tx Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Standard, unbarried Mk1 Escort without bubble arches, Mexico stripes and lairy paint job.Well there was that famous one on the titles to The Bill, driven by a cloth-capped old codger. Rumour has it it stayed on the road till the late 1990s, and is still in existence on Sorn Dick Cheeseburger 1

MiniMort Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 How about the Slough built Citroen 2cv's and Bijous. I only recall seeing one Bijou in 2009 in the NEC classic car show.
flat4alfa Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Bijou at Citroen club day last year Untidy one, just drove in and parked
Uncle Jimmy Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Moskvitch 412; a fair number were sold here in the early 70s, I imagine the arrival of the Lada saw to that. tooSavvy 1
flat4alfa Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 I suppose the way to turn this thread about would be to define 'sold new in UK' cars away from the ones we've been dragging through the tunnel en masse
Quintus Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Mitsubishi Sapporo. Kept seeing a blue F reg one near me, but foolishly never got a picture of it.

Ghosty Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 talbot rancho. Always admired but I never did manage to find one!I spotted a silver one on the road at Tatton Park last year.
vulgalour Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 According to some insurance databases, there is no such thing as a Daihatsu Applause. Chompy was a bit miffed that insurers kept asking "Are you sure you don't mean a Charade?", if he'd meant that he'd've said that. fordperv 1

garbaldy Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 For a long time I thought the Mitsubishi Tredia was extinct here, but a Turbo one turned up a few years back which has been stored in a garage so long it predated the SORN system I think. He wanted big money for it so I'm pretty sure it's still there.Ah the old tredia tubby which I tried to buy, I remember someone posted up that they would happily pay 3.5k for it the following year and then the guy suddenly wouldn't sell me it at my two grand offer, neadless to say Mr 3.5 didn't buy it and it ended up on eBay a few times and eventually sold to someone from Norway so it now is no longer in the country.
garbaldy Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Didn't know that! Hey that means the Tredia is back on the "zero" list then.Yes it was a damn shame as I would have loved it to supplement my LT, I have been looking abroad for one as well as a gallant but they must be rare over the pond too.
nigel bickle Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 There's one bear Brighton. Inspire, with a collector. Nice Nick, too.

Guest Renault20tx Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 How about the Fiat Marea? Haven't seen one for donkeys The Regatta? Or, indeed, the Lancia Thema?
nigel bickle Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Why don't you try something effing difficult, for Christs sake? I own All the effing Renners you mentioned, and a good few more you've probably never heard of. I own a Regata, as an august member here has been trying to pry off me, recently. A close friend owns several Themas and his wife drives a Marea. I will be collecting a Tipo later this week to go with my early and late UNOs. Please try harder. pshome 1
