Campervan dent repair

I love to read about these skills that people like Mr B here has, along with so many of you.

It makes me feel sh*t about by own lack of talent but apart from that it's so cool to see what people can do with some bits of metal. Amazing!

I reckon £4000 is fair considering the work, as mentioned above, most people would have filled it if they'd bothered at all, plus the mechanicky bits.

Four large for all that?

Very tempted, there's even time to organise somewhere to put it.

Mr B, sit on it till next spring and go high on the £££ - this is a camper that has proof it will go anywhere and hasn't been doddering about. I reckon that's a premium of ONE LARGE on the price your thinking.

Top miracle tailoring SKILLZ too on the rear quarter.

Don't listen to him. Sell it to me, cheaply, and regret it later. It's what a WINNER would do.

Pah! You want to harvest Mr_B's SPENT SEED from the crusty mattress you can CLONE him. Probably.

Whoa, hold on a minute. Credit where credit is due, obviously that's great skillage and red primer is always FTW, but you haven't got a reverse light anymore. *shakes head*

No concours prize for you sir.

There is another way to sort it without all that fancy spray paint business:

That red oxide patch is conveniently painted the dimensions of the average new van tail light cluster, so paint one on the other side and draw a few lines for the various lights, then job done with the bonus of looking very contemporary. Maybe trial with adding some glitter to the red oxide to make them sparkle a bit.

Do you have any more photos? I can't buy it unfortunately but would like a good drool over it. Looks a nice old bus.

I'd still be thinking what to do!

Brilliant craftsmanship as ever from Mr Bol looks a nice example too, well worth the coin. Shame I'm skint as ever or I'd love to have that myself. Though if I brought that home I'd definitley be living in it too!

That looks fab, I reversed my Dad's brand new C15 van into a customers house years ago and the damage looked identical. It was never repaired though as it was deemed too difficult,

I don't think you'll have too much trouble shifting that when it's finished, especially at the start of the summer.

If ever a camper needed the reg plate BOL 10X, it's this one.

Excellent repair. 99.9% of people wouldn't have bothered do to such a job. Eight out of ten cats approve.

I need to get on with this camper van so I took it up the garage the othetr night to do some tinkering.

I was sure it would need some welding so i decided to have a look underneath and see what I could find.

Took off the OSF wheel first.

Didnt take long to find a nice big hole!!!

The battery tray is directly above this hole and its a bit rusty too but thats not so critical. But a rust hole beside the strut tower is no good so I spent ages chopping it all out.

Repaired it with two big patches!!!! Basically finishing off my big sheet of Zintec, Found a leaky CV boot as well so I have bought a new one off eBay for a tenner.

I'm sure there will be some more welding to be done - more next week no doubt

It reminds me of a Citroen CX on steroids with the spare under the bonnet.  :-D

You have done good work there old lad. I am impressed :) Neat welding and the rear end repair is first rate.

Would it tow a Bentley? If so I could live in it and wander the country in search of loose women and adventure!
