Man. Someone buy my manky Mercedeses. 3dr Disco with hauling hook on the back would be right up my field-tracks.

Hmmm, I've just blown my present disco up, this one has the wrong number of doors - but I'll take 29, 44 and 49 if it get's roffled

I must not, I must not, I must not, my Range Rover classic WILL be home soon.

No.

But I'll buy your Yellow one...

I can't take it,  if there were two of them they might conspire to break together.

In fairness mine might always seem to be a bit broken but that is probably because you can still use it with any part 90% knackered and it will still get you home just noisily and probably with a trail of fluids.

Is the roofrack is up for sale seperately?

How many miles? any service history?

Dad had one of these and I loved it more than he did, what mpg do you get?

We had a diesel tank on the farm so never really paid any attension to what it drank.

Dad, farm and disco long gone so would be great to recapture a bit of my early twenties spent "borrowing" it.

140k

I'll check - got original owners bookpack.

25+ round town, 35 + on a run. Never bothered checking exactly as it was reasonable to start with, and got so good on veg mix (equivalent) that it is/was not of any concern.

1. Zippy, I thought you'd flogged the Ferreter Trudo...?

2. John, has Madame fallen out with her MX5?

1. Yes, but it was replaced with another Scooby, but too new to be welcome on here, so its ownership is kept quiet

2. Yep, it seems that way. She never quite got the hang of correct road positioning in the MX5 and generally ended up driving far too close to the kerb, which terrified me as a passenger and badly dented her confidence. So she just didn't drive the car. Recently she started a new job & has to drive to work, so I suggested she tried using the Disco with a booster cushion. This works well, she likes the fact she's sat so high & gets on well with the grunty diesel engine, so I suspect she'll be looking for a Disco after winter as the MX5 replacement.

Or perhaps this one, if it goes to raffle... :-D

god, i'm seriously thinking about this.  i really must have a conversation with her indoors.  it'd be great for lugging the caravan about!

I think what Zippy (aka gdhaydock) is trying to say is that he & I will be embarking upon a Live* Collection ThreadTM on Fri evening. And what car could be more suitable for charging across half the country in winter, at rush hour, than an MX-5?

The Disco will initially be pressed into service to replace Zip's utterly OMGHGF / hydro-locked one until he can find a tidy 5-door ES model. Then a fairly complicated space-creation process will take place chez moi, potentially seeing Miss F as the new Disco owner at some point early in the new year.

Which just leaves a new owner to be found for the MX-5 in spring... hmmm... roffle?
