Kangoo 4x4 , should I bother

Unbelievably I haven't noticed the abandoned 2005 dizzler Renault Kangoo 5 seater 4x4 in the works car park, seems a previous tennant in one of the offices left it when they moved site and seem's I can have it if I want it as the tennant told them to get rid. I didn't even know there was a 4x4 version ! It's in decent nic apart from flat tyres and someones tried to hot wire it unsuccesfully .

I believe I can get the log book and keys if I pester hard enough but even for parts i'm sure it would make a few quid;)

I bet it's really shite though even if running, anyone had any experience of them

My mates been running a 2wd 1.2 pez for a few years now and it's a lot better than I expected to drive. It's broken down a few times but it's a twelve year old Renault so that isn't much of a surprise.

A 4x4 example sounds like the type of thing I would buy then end up running in 2wd after some component or other shat itself after 5 minutes of use.

You know you want it ;)

I have a customer who has 3 of them and loves them all. They do have propshaft problems as all 3 of his have had prop work but the viscous couplings seem to survive ok. I know my customer would have another any day as they do exactly what he wants. If it is any good I am sure he would buy it off you

I missed out on a cheap one not so long back locally. I vote get it then advertise it on here, I'd be well interested in it dependant on price.

I tried, in the Subaru, to follow one up a very steep hill on hard packed snow. I had to give up eventually but the Kangoo made it.

So yes. Quick MOT and then flog for HUGE profit when Daily Mail-Ice-age-fear-storm-snow-panic happens.

If you can get paperwork and keys sorted out, MOT it, its generally not fucked and the price is right I would be interested in buying.

Do these have the lower arms made of unobtanium and mega expense? Like the scenic rx4

Get it, read in the Daily Mail   yesterday we are to get 1000000 cm of snow this weekend.

The lower arms are available but Renault only and rather expensive. The front driveshafts are different as well and Renault only so mega bucks.

It's a modern renault. With four wheel drive.

WCPGW? Absolutely everything.

Which means you have to buy one.

I'd love a Scenic RX4. In fact I'm gonna set up an ebay search to alert me to cheap ones coming up.

They're getting cheaper, B01. One went locally at a car dealers for about £650 recently.

I reckon the Kangoo would be better though, just for the rarity and probably very short shelf life.

Looking through eBay completed sales I can see one up-and-running petrol one that went for £135!!!! Thats my kind of price.

We had a 4x4 in work years ago, it was fantastic. I drove it during the winter of 2008/9 while we were doing work on a farm, great fun.

Years ago when I was in the ROC there was a series of articles in the club  magazine from a chap who'd bought one of these - possibly new given it was so long ago. I mainly seem to remember quite lengthy descriptions of the big overhead lockers. Is that right - do they have these?

If you look at LP's pictures on a small crap phone it looks like that car is on a weighbridge.

2wd version coped OK, so I'd be tempted by the 4x4 for rarity/bravery value!

Some models do, but not all. I bought a proper Renault dog guard for mine, only to find it didn't fit the ones with lockers
