Looks lovely. Strangely, looks like a 4 door Renault 15/17 in "bare metal". Odd how lights , bumpers, and trim can make so much visual difference

Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

I've decided not to go with any vinyl on the rear quarters for now and try something different, but I can always put the vinyl on if I want to. I've also decided to reduce the bright trim content  and only the bumpers and locks will be chrome.

I've had a new full width black boot lid decal made but I'm not sure I want to go with that either now.

I'll get some pictures taken tomorrow of work so far but here's one I took last night.

it would be interesting to see it with black bumpers- after all its what bl did with the allegro equipe

You are right, the bonnet needs a bit more adjustment but it's a real pain on these.

Anyway, I've got one side done and, for the time being have decided to forego the stripes and applied the boot decal I made instead.

I'll get on with the passenger side in the week, but if I had a pound for every time I dropped a screw in that fucking gravel, never to be seen again.

Christ that thing looks nice!

Looks good without the vinyl on the pillars too.

Very very nice work!

Fantastic.  What a story.  This could have been scrapped!  Great encouragement to any of us who go through something similar.

yes now its together it does look good but maybe it need black bumpers to make the effect complete- not sure about the c pillars tho imho its just a bit too yellow, maybe the same stripe as boot lid at bottom of pillar with the ST script?

That looks great. Like an oversized diecast model. Do you have a 'before' photo to compare it with?

Thanks for the nice comments. I wanted to keep some chrome on it for a bit of bling so the bumpers and locks will remain as so. I'm working on another decal for the rear pillar with a bit more black in it.

would you mind if i copied some of this for my triumph 2500?  ive always thought of it as an st, it has a high comp hs6 carbed engine with a cam and a manual box, and an lsd. its also got a full vw bora leather interior.

Verry nice, great work indeed. The gravel must be a pain, get an old sheet down.

Looks ace but I do like a bit of vinyl on a C pillar  :happydance:

I agree that the rear pillar is a bit too yellow so I added this black strip to break it down slightly. I think.

Wow! Looks amazing! Stunning job.

i'm not sure about the bare c-pillar, but, BUT the rest of the updates have been AWSUMM!!

that is looking so, so good.

I looked at the C-pillar and thought "fade" - a series of wide black stripes narrowing either to the rear, or to the roof of the car. But it's your car, whatever you do on the finish looks amazing to be honest - shows everything Leyland could have done to make this an incredibly appealing car.

Personally I'd black out the band of yellow below the window, making the rear window visually deeper to match the side windows, and I'm with the crowd on black bumpers - though I'd vinyl wrap rather than paint. To be absolutely honest, I'd actually look into creating very early '80s style deep, complex plastic bumpers for body colour & black stripe, to address the most visual element of the '70s roots.

This car is amazing, the work you put into it is amazing. So pleased that the accident was far from the end of the story for it.

Here are some ideas that stylists were working on for the Princess 2, but in the end they went safe.

It may take a while to get the look right, but there's no rush. I'm just eager to get back behind the wheel more than anything.

Fabulous work! The unpainted C pillar makes the shape too heavy at the back though. I would do it in black vinyl but with the ST logo cut out to reveal the Snapthemagicdragon yellow underneath.

A neat 'Styled by Harris Mann' logo would be uber cool as well. Perhaps with a nifty TR7 outline?
