That Renner Master posted by Lacquer Peel does look good, its actually in my watch list already!

Been to test drive a couple of Express campers... Still considering something more stealthy like a converted panel van. Just cos sometimes I want to blend in and fuj the world off - dont look at me!

That Master looks like a good deal at first glance, but there is no water system at all.....no tanks, no sink, no water heater, nowt. No fridge either and no cooker, just a wee camping stove. In fact, its just a normal van with a load of cupboards in the back and a few mains sockets.  Depends what you are looking for, but thats starting to look kinda dear for a van with no equipment.

The Td autsleeper is a proper camper with all the gear and the luxury* of a chemical shitter too.

The 2.5 is half-way between the two - has cooker and fridge and filler for a water tank but I see no vent for a water heater - might be cold water only. But I am always suspicious of the old "bought it, never used it and am now selling it" thing from anyone who is not an autoshiter. Reading between the lines it sounds like it might have problems.

I'm off to look at the XUD turbo one that Wuvz posted, later this morning. Exciting times!

Travel the country as a mobile mechanic specialising in extracting Latte Frappe Macciato from mobile kettles. Buy a big enough camper for a parts washer and a head skimmer, become self-sufficient

Bloke round the corner from me has a real old merc motorhome for sale. Wierd ugly lookin thing diesel motor I can find out more if you like

Is 1991 too early for an XUD 1.9TD? Is it Fiat's 1.9TD?

As long as it has enough power to pull itself and a Perkins-powered SEAT 124 on an A frame it doesn't matter.

Theres a Citroen C25 version on the bay with a 1.9D (non-turbo) XUD. That must barely crack 40mph FFS

I had one: Pig nosed Mercedes Autotrail.

Absolutely brilli...  actually it was Autoshiteâ„¢ - but tremendous fun.

My mate Simon runs a business repairing Talbot Express campers. He is never short of work!!!

Defo worth having a look at the pics of the jobs he posts up on his website to see where they all rot out.

He also has a 2.5td LHD for sale but no price on it.

£3.6k! Have LT prices gone up that much? I notice it has a split charge unit yet still somehow the fridge managed to flattern the battery...

The garage where my son worked once spent the best parts of two-three weeks welding up one of those 1991-ish Citroen/Peugeot camper vans. It was eye wateringly rotten, it seems the front end suffers the most, especially inner/outer wings and round the windscreen.
