Lovely looking Ovlov there Mr SK. A friend"s dad had an old 245 estate as part of his fleet when we were at school, lovely old bus. His was a pre facelift one.

The Volvo is top quality, I didn’t realise the cloth was as nice on them. Sierra is coming on well...

Phwoar.  That is an absolute corker.  Always loved the 200 series (my Mum had a 240 that I loved as a kid) and 244s are bloody fantastic.

The 244 is just perfect, love it. Especially the seats.

Is it some kind of special jubilee edition?

Wikipedia says yes! It’s a 244DL Anniversary - one of 500 made worldwide. Outstanding!!

Volvo looks amazing, great to see one with round headlamps. With pre 2001 plates it would be perfect.

There was one just like it for sale in Austria before Christmas. A snip at €18,000.

Easily the best car on here in a while, and there have been some absolute belters of late. Love it.

This and the Subaru have to be keepers

Such a cool car!

I took it out for a leisurely Sunday drive!

For what you paid that is a bargain. Stone cold future classic, especially anniversary model.

Absolutely stunning Volvo 244 there, what a deal! Brings back many fond memomeires of the family 245 DL. Carburettor, manual choke, 4 speed manual, no power steering. Proper cars these.

That's a proper Volvo. Much nicer than the newer stuff.

I got the new slave cylinder fitted today, what a faff that was! The old one was pretty much welded in there having been in there for so long. I removed the circlip holding it in place and hoped to just tap the old cylider out but I ended up having to smash fuck out of it with a mallet while using stilsons to twist it back and forth to work it free.

Eventually got it out and the new one fitted in easily enough, got it bled and now I have a working clutch again.

Has your Volvo still got the 1986cc engine? If so I've a new water pump you may want for free.

I believe it's a 2.1

if the 1986cc is the same as the engine fitted in a 360 I may need the water pump.

The early big bumper cars usually had the 2.1 ‘red block’ engine. Yours looks like a B21a engine.

It’s the same basic engine as the later 200’s, 360’s, 700’s and 900’s used but just a different capacity and different carb’s/injection systems (which is what the letter at the end of engine type code means) and the distributor was different on later versions of the red block engine.

Most other bits, including the water pump should be the same.

Sugar in the tank... of a 323. What the actual fudge was that all about?

If you're bald, just comb hair from the back forward then gel it upwards.

Nobody will ever know your shame.

That's both the Mazda and Sierra away to new owners!

Hopefully if it all goes to plan I will have another W123 Mercedes by the end of the week.

Clearly one knackered Mercedes wasn't enough! This one I'm going to do as little bodywork as possible to achieve an mot and leave it looking as rough as possible. I think it looks great.
