Can you not just cut them off the underside of council transit tippers in the middle of the night like everyone else does?

I'm not for a minute suggesting you'll be doing this bent, but I've been had off by someone previously who bought my cat then claimed it wasn't the right type and Paypal refunded him, and it transpired he was well known for it. Can people reply on this thread with pictures and you state a price?

Like I say, not implying you're doing this in a dodgy way.

price would be agreed beforehand using  the code or a photo. however maybe I ought to change my user name....

hi

manifold cats aren`t worth as much as `proper` cats I`m afraid

If it aftermarket, its no use to me but if it is original (should have ford stamp on it) let me know the code

Cheers

Tom

forgot to mention, unless you are taking the engine out it probably isn`t worth the effort on those fiestas, its a driveshaft out job if I remember correctly and I think the cat is only around £25 on those anyway sorry :(

Should be original and it's just* lifts out with the head when the lower two bolted flange separates so worth an hour's effort for 25 notes.

Raoul - could I have some details on the Fiesta, where are you located?

How much is a Volvo 940 cat worth?

all depends on it being original or not. if you cound find the code on it or take a photo I could tell you then. you may need to sand the surface rust off to see the code

by the way,I`m in cannock every week so could take a look if you want

I don`t need any more pussy but speak to catsinthewelder, he is has a house full and one more probably wouldn`t be noticed. Reckon you could force him through the letterbox while he`s out?

Original GM stamped cat on a calibra 2.0 8v? Thinking of sacking it off as its a J reg so doesn't need one for MOT.

again, its all about codes and piccies but at least  £40 I reckon

Are you gonna be at Shitefest, Tom?

I may have a few I could bring along then - saves us postage.

I have made no plans but yes I intend to go there. Not sure if alone or with the Mrs and little dodgytom yet. he`s only 18 months old so not sure if its a suitable day out for them as I haven`t read all the shitefest details yet!

People nicking them don't fuck about cutting the cat out, a length of chain round the pipe tied to a transit, gets it done much quicker.

Thats exactly how I get the more awkward ones out when I can`t get the grinder in apart from I use a shogun :)

Quite spectacular when removing manifold cats from cars with them at the front. often takes rad and bumper out too . I love brutality :)

I work for myself, buying / selling cars and parts. Also do paintwork and other bits and bobs, whatever really. I also take scrap too mush :)

Older diesel cats are still worth little bit of money though not as much as later ones. Early Xantia for instance is only worth £20 if its still full. I`ve been doing this a while but learning all the time. Anything I don`t know then I text a contact at the main cat buyer and he gets back to me quite quickly usually

Also did you know, most diesels will still pass the emissions test even without a cat although it should fail on account of the tester visually seeing that there is no cat.  On an older diesel that isn`t worth alot it is definately worth welding in a worthless aftermarket cat and cashing in the genuine one.

For example :  2001 Peugeot HDi cat usually between £70 and £120, unless its one of the ones with a manifold cat

                        2001 Fiat JTD £70

2001 Vauxhall Astra Diesel £100 Most other genuine Vauxhall ones are good news too,

I don`t know much about cars after 2005 as they don`t seem to come my way yet, but my contact can help me out with this.

All prices very approximate as they fluctuate daily and there are so many little differences I can`t say for sure without the codes
