Cheers for all the kind words guys!

I'm not sure I can get to shitefest as I'm busy that weekend, but hoping to make it to a few events this year with it. Just need to work out which!

Did they do a tourer version of these? I've just seen (and heard) a lovely late plate ZT-T and it was burbling beautifully. Sounded like a V8 to me...

Posted

Yes, can doubly confirm the Tourer version, as I saw a black one in Buckinghamshire last summer. Of course I didn't twig until it had gone past and a saw the dual exhaust exit, so I didn't get any photos.

This shall remain on my bucket list, would love to hoon about in 1 some day.

Do it Skizz, and get it vinyl wrapped in BRG, or doom blue or something.

...and put that daft number plate on retention for when you decide to sell.

Aw shit, I wish I hadn't thought of that now.  Value of BMW = cost of MG ZT-T260 + full resto of XJ6.  That's really quite hard to argue with.

(Unless fuel consumption/future of the planet is a worry, obviously.)

Agreed on the plate and the price, plus it's got pimptastic blacked out windows so meh.  But I might keep my eyes open for another in a less lairy colour and preferably Rover trim for max Q-car points - ta for the linky.

Soz for thread hijack.

The Owd Giffer seriously considered one of these before settling on the AllRoad. I did nothing to dissuade him.

You've had it a day now, have you worn out the rear tyres yet?

Posted

I drove a ZT-T 260 for a couple of weeks. Loved it but there was way too much profit in the thing to keep it.

Only thing about the 260 that disappointed me was it needed another 100 bhp. MG did have a high power one lined up. That would have been brilliant.

I take it all the Mustang performance stuff just bolts on?

Posted

I should imagine so. I know there are quite a few supercharged 260s. That must be a nice thing to drive.

Posted

Yeah you can s/c them up to 400 quite easily.

Trying to make the tyres last a bit longer but will have to turn traction control off soon, it's too basic... at any risk of spinning up wheels, cuts the fuel off!

Not a car where I'll be monitoring mpg....

Rover disabled the mpg readout on these.

Can't think why.

The one I ran wasn't hideous on fuel provided you didn't brain it everywhere.
