Chrysler 300c. Although the proper one that I want (v8) isn't that common so may not ever get that cheap. And OMGRFL. Still would, though. One of very, very few moderns I genuinely like.

Nissan juke, yeah it's ugly so like the Scorpio it won't be saved.

I live all the new kia stuff too. Looks a bit weird and people will just bin em

I'll look forward to hybrid and electric car banger racing! Finally a use for them!

But all the scrap ones will have knackered batteries.

Maybe we could have an alternative source of electricity?

What about an electrified grid above the track with a long pole fitted to the back of every car?

Maybe for authenticity we could have a pikey hanging off the pole shouting "NO BUMPING, ALL IN ONE DIRECTION, KEEP YOUR HANDS INSIDE!" While 2unlimited plays constantly through knackered tannoys.

Most stuff made this century has little interest to me due to the plethora of sensors and computers in them.

1937 Packard Twelves going out of fashion and re-entering shiter territory.

Because I want one.

Same goes for Facel Vega Excellences.

Come the apocalypse you won't be able to give them away.

Even thought 99% are owned by complete bell ends, I have to admit I really want one as well. Also the previous shape Range Rover (but in dark green, not white or black)

I had a 306 convertible as a rental in Tenerife.  I thought it was lovely and would certainly like to try one here, except how often is a convertible worth the bother?  The one 406 I've driven was nice too and I know the 405 gets a lot of love round here, as does the 205.  So those might be worth a look for you.

I don't like convertibles, I got my present MR2 despite being a convertible not because. It is just that the two door hardtop 306 is such a lovely looking thing and sadly they never made a coupe. A 205 GTi Auto would be hard to resist I reckon, but probably expensive.

I mustard mitt the 300C hemi has a certain appeal but it would have to be a saloon not that gopping wagon.   For maximum shite value it would need to be on steelies with Interceptor style hub caps and NOT that fucking bently grille (Yes I CAN spell Bentley but not in that sentence).    The trouble is I have already looked inside one and cannot see much in there that I can live with - disappointingly unlike an 84 Diplomat.....

Anything which has a self reverse parking feature.

After 20 years of bodging, and cross wiring by several Shiters - I would strap myself in, with a Hookhah get stoned put Jethro Tull on the full blast and press the 'Reverse' button

'Knackered batteries' usually means one or two cells have gone down, which can be replaced at relatively low cost. Sometimes battery packs can go on for ages once this is done, with another odd cell at some point, or sometimes most of them start getting tired, But their efficiency means that even when unsuitable for a car, they may suit domestic use in an off-grid situation. I think the Japs quickly started using their EVs as energy reservoirs for their homes after Fukushima, when Tokyo started suffering rolling power cuts. They store whopping amounts of energy.

C63 AMG estate is high on my list.

One with 200k on the clock and ECU amnesia for a grand would do ;)

Chrysler 300 Hemis are already on the up price wise, as someone said there aren't many anyway and those that are around are usually SRT8s.

The 3.5 V6 is relatively common and I think these are the ones most likely to make it into shiterdom, they're not as fast as the diesel and use more petrol than the Hemi but they tend not have many miles on them. I don't think you could get the V6 petrol after the 2008 facelift so most are 2005/6 and saloons.

Most diesels will be run into the ground,as they are amazing workhorses, old tech Sprinter V6 diesel unbreakable 5 speed auto from about 1991 and minimal electronics. Built like a brick shithouse and parts cost pennies. My gopping estate was abused to 320,000 miles when it was written off. I think most have been used by the private hire trade by now so don't believe what the Fisher Price speedo says. Apart from a bit of wear on the fake leather seat edge they don't show their age at all, an advantage of the hard nasty plastics I suppose.

God knows why I didn't get another one ,the 5 series I've got is by any rational measure a better car, so why do I keep looking at them on The Autotrader? My family, friends even customers all keep telling me to get another one , I probably will.

Personally I can't wait for Continental GT s to get down to a couple of grand,200 mph on part worns and a lenient MOT WCPGW ?

This is the only picture I can find of it.

According to the woman that I've seen driving around my area a lot recently in her Daihatsu Copen, all the time is when, she has the roof down almost all of the time. I always tell myself that if I had a convertible the only times the top would be up is when it was raining and when I was away from the car. Cold? Wrap up warmer.

W12 phaetons are high on my WCPGW list.

They were on mine until someone I know had one shit itself leaving a £12,000 repair bill. It spent six months festering outside his company before being shifted on for not too many pennies.

That MG6 is a very cheap car. Are they any good though? Haven't seen many of them about!

The Juke etc will be saved. The ugly cars people on here like now were never big sellers and are now mega rare hence why we like them. We may think the Juke is ugly but in 30 yrs when the kids of today are getting all nostalgic about their youth, that's what they will remember as their parents owned on and that's what they will want. Same with the Evoke maybe, if their mum was a porn actress.

The future on Autoshite will be a board full of the unpopular rejects that society feel are too weird to fit in with normal life and they will be posting about the cars everyone forgot.

It is, it's not, there's a reason for that.

I'm not Partridge LOL Not really a fan of Rovers, and people actually bought 800's, unlike Renner's 2 seater with a daft name

Wot, not maple syrup?

From Honest Johan:

Meanwhile, in the middle of the dash is a large seven-inch high resolution touchscreen that controls all the main functions. It means the C4 Cactus is indeed minimalist with just six buttons. The touchscreen system controls all heating and ventilation, media, navigation, vehicle settings and Bluetooth. There are useful shortcut touch sensitive buttons on the side so you can navigate easily.

Good luck with that 10+ years down the road, when the screen is a mass of lines and half the buttons don't work...

Dacia's they will be great in 8-10 years, will be worth about £500 and will give us something to weld up  :-D

The Cactus touchscreen will be similar in operation to the SMEG unit in the Peugeot, which to say it was bloody awful. Touchscreen are just not good for use on the move, there's no feedback like a clicky button.

Standard radio goes wrong in 15 years time - get a new radio. Aircon control unit goes wrong, twenty quid from a breaker.

7" touchscreen goes wrong - good luck with that.

There's already a market for devices to replace some of the functions of a built-in "infotainment" (eurgh) system on my Astra - I can put a standard stereo in and install a box that stops CANBUS from throwing a hissy, has an indicator sounder (since they come through the speakers now!) and makes the heater controls work on the LED display instead of guessing

I really dislike these touch screens controlling basic stuff in the car for another reason; you've got to look at it to use it. With a knob you can just grab it without looking and twiddle it up and down until you're satisfied. Sadly the manufacturers don't give a toss if it works in 10-15 years time.

These will be interesting to watch the depreciation of seeing as they are so cheap new. I reckon that when they're all about 10 years old they'll be like the Perodua Kelisa, dealers will get one owner examples with hardly any miles and will try to sell them for £2,500 while all the ones with normal use will be under £1,000.

Edit: I wonder if this could be bodged  fixed to Autoshite quality? '14 plate car for under 3 grand?

I think we're looking at this from the viewpoint of old farts being scared of new technology.

I have no idea how a touchscreen works but you can bet if there's money to be made there'll be lots of people setting up shop repairing them.

I remember my dad saying in the 70's that fuel injection was not repairable and all these fancy foreign cars would be scrapped when it fucked up.

At the end of the day a touch screen is still just a thing that's makes something turn on and off. When they are all broken and no chance of being fixed I'm sure an analogue set of switches could be made. Might look a bit shit but better than nothing
