Andyrew Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Oh no! Can I tow you in? My phone number was in the last PMI limped it back to my workshop. I'll leave it there. It lost power and seems to be starving of fuel, possibly duff fuel or water in the tank maybe?

Andyrew Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I'm good but thanks for the offer! my better halfs on her way and Ive got a work van at home that can be used, I'm hoping the fuel filters clogged or collapsed but it's a bit odd. Mrs6C and Six-cylinder 2

anonymous user Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Sorry to have missed this, I spent the time instead trying to dry out my C15 electrics to stop it blowing the sidelight fuse. Lets just see what happens next time it rains.
richardmorris Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 It was a risky day with 3 Land Rover products on site!I suppose on averages one was bound to break down. Six-cylinder 1
Six-cylinder Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 As usual it was great day at the Field of Dream even as it was early in the year we caught a couple of hail showers. The aim for the day was to get the Giulietta rear inboard brakes released and the car rolling and thanks to Andyrew we achieved that. We moved cars around so the Giulietta is at the front for loading. Slowsilver also completed the o/s rear brake rebuild on the Spitfire 6. We took shelter from a passing shower in the Hay barn which now contains the CX and I mentioned I needed the accelerator cable off it because it was fire damaged. What better in the rain than to take a CX apart! Junior motorcycling took place. Somebody bought that wild child! Usual tea was drunk and even old acquaintances renewed. Thank you everybody who took part. Dick Cheeseburger, RobT, Burnside and 7 others 10
richardmorris Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I visited the field of dreams and look what happened to me. The guilietta bit me ( compensation £££££!). We had to break into my Mercedes’ 25 yr old unopened first aid kit, which was actually very well stocked with decaying bandages while trying not to drip blood onto the pale grey interior. Thanks to professional assistance my finger was re-attached in textbook fashion. Looking forward to the next visit. Mrs6C, richardthestag, Stanky and 2 others 5
Six-cylinder Posted March 17, 2019 Author Posted March 17, 2019 Anything to get itself back to a red colour!

SiC Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Slightly different topic, but have you seen this video series where a guy strips down a 6cyl E-Type engine and rebuilds? https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgc5w5-Thaefjt9qaJfTInck5PMopAtMr Might interest you to see what is inside yours. I'm about half way through and enjoying it quite a bit! Six-cylinder and Mrs6C 2
Mrs6C Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 A big THANK YOU!!!! from me for getting my Giulietta mobile again. It will be great to get it away to the Alfa specialist to be sorted out and returned to the road. Those of you who spied the tax disc will have noticed that it was last on the road in March 1999, so after two decades of standing around in various rural locations, it deserves a bt of TLC. Now I need to have a rummage in the shed to find the spare doors, wings, sills and headlights... richardmorris, Burnside and Ohdearme 3
ianbmw Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Once again ,thank you for the use of the field and the days entertainment! It was either mess around with old cars or paint the hallway! Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk richardmorris, Six-cylinder, Mrs6C and 3 others 6
richardmorris Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 I think of it as day-care for grown men. There is a very odd sense of achievement in helping get something dead moving again, although I don’t think the mice will appreciate being relocated. You also need to contact Chris to be reacquainted with the misplaced child’s helmet Mrs6C 1
ianbmw Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Indeed Chris did inform me! Where did the forgetful sod leave it? Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk

richardmorris Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Was it a misplaced child, or a misplaced helmet? We may* have noticed a missing child earlier despite being elbow deep in a slightly burny cx engine bay. I also think said child has a future in parcour given the exploration of the JCB. anonymous user and Mrs6C 2
Eyersey1234 Posted March 17, 2019 Posted March 17, 2019 Sorry I wasn't able to attend today, hopefully I might be able to make a future event. Mrs6C 1

Slowsilver Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Another fun day of tinkering.More achieved than anticipated despite numb fingers and hailstones.Nice to meet Andyrew, who did sterling work on the Alfa with the aid of several large hammers.Sorry to see he had trouble getting home.I have also contributed another pair of wheel ramps to Six-cylinder's proposed borrow/loan/adopt/rehome scheme which are now languishing in the field with some new friends. If anyone needs a pair, he is now your man.Looking forward to the next one, which will hopefully be a tad warmer. ianbmw Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Why would you want to buy a fully operational vehicle? That's just spoiling the fun! Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk
