I have had the heads of it and there was no gung in them, all rubber pipes are being replaced and the water pump is being replaced. The only worry is the radiator and the heater which I will have try flush them out.

I reckon this is a case of stuck thermostat + aluminium + mixed brands of antifreeze + time so all the silt is on one side - the manifold wasn't as bad as the pipe. Whatever it is should be dissolvable though... This is where distance is annoying as that flange would fit a small ultrasonic cleaner and I'd chuck it in there with half a dishwasher tab. richardmorris 1

Six-cylinder Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 On To 2023 We still have quite a fleet to maintain in spite of this year’s sales which will keep me pretty busy. Then we move onto the new targets for 2023. I plan to hold quite a few FoD events and maybe I should focus each one on a particular car. Requests to come and work on particular cars will be accommodated when ever possible. Targets for driving next year 2023 · 1976 Opel Manta · 1974 Saab 95 · 1994 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe · 1983 Citroen LNA · 1993 Renault Safrane 3.0 RT · 1976 Vanden Plas 1500 · 1974 Peugeot 504 Cabriolet · 1993 Vauxhall Carlton 2.0i Club Estate · 1985 Range Rover The never ending Job list for 2023 without listing all the normal services and MOTs we will achieve. Six-cylinder Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 Motorbikes Mrs6C is getting quite anxious about my nasty habit of buying broken mopeds! I think early next 2023 we will have to hold a FoD gathering to get some working, as most of us enjoy a ride around on an old moped. LightBulbFun, catsinthewelder, JMotor and 9 others 5 7

Six-cylinder Posted January 1, 2023 Author Posted January 1, 2023 It has been a great first day of 2023 for car stuff. It was Stony Stratford New Years Day Classic event where the whole town is shut down for cars from 1900 to late model super cars along with Military vehicles, bikes and other odd things like tractors. Getting up at 7am this morning seemed tough but the reward was a ride in ianbmw's Opel Monza GSE. Knowing there was also a chance I could drive the Monza home as Ian had his company prize Porsche 924S already there on show to be given away later in the year. Because I am unlikely to see the 924S again but the Monza is Ian's and local when I was offered the choice of driving the 924S or the Monza I requested Porsche. For extra greatness of the day I have got to keep the 924S until tomorrow. I left home this morning in @Andyrew Astra and returned in the Porsche 924S, I had to reassure Mrs6C this was a temporary situation and I had not purchased a car on day one of 2023! catsinthewelder, wuvvum, richardmorris and 14 others 17

I remember the thread on RR a few years back when he restored that Monza. It looked mint at the time. I'm assuming it's a daily now? Great to see it being used although I hope he doesn't let the elements (and salt) undo all his good work. RichardK and Six-cylinder 2

Ian rescued the Monza from a field in October where it had sat since 2017. He MOTed it, took it on a Classic Rally in France and now it is standing in for his broken daily. It has rust in the front wings, rear arches and needs a respray, but the underside is solid. It will get sorted out this year. JMotor 1

I'm amazed he left it sitting after putting so much work into making it solid. Here it is in 2015. Is it the same Ian who bought it back a decade later, or just coincidence? JMotor and Six-cylinder 2

Oh, now there's a choice! I had a 924S, wonderful thing. So well made, and just the right amount of power, but... Monza. Looking at the height on that I do wonder if ours was a LeMans after all. It had LeMans wheels and sat lower I think, but no idea if it was 160hp. Maybe the white is also deceptive. Six-cylinder 1
