It has been decided that I am to part with my dear sweet Transit following the purchase of a ______ ________

I have put it on Cuntree sorry, Gumtree and am braced for more of the same sort of character that rang me earlier....

Hadn't thought of mentioning it on here because it is what it is etc but then, it may do someone a turn/be good for bits when the test runs out/"Ideal Project"/there is another hopeless Van Fan amongst us or summink else.

 

What to say about it??

Well...it's an ex B.T steed in their finest hue of Grey,

Has just turned 100k miles (if the MOT history is to be believed),

M.O.T. expires 18/04/2015,

Shell in surprisingly fair condition*   DISCLAIMER: For an unrestored 1994 Ford Transit

It has a manual steering rack and a CD player that sometimes works.

Heater is hot, windscreen wipers wipe, lights light, doors lock, seats are comfy, good on fuel, has a rustic pineapple shelf upon it's top...don't really know what else to say about it. I do have a spare balljoint that can be had if you so desire, maybe some other bits too

 

*May need welding on the N/S/R sill end as was an advisory on last years test. (DISCLAIMER: May need other welding/fixing work also)

 

Got it up on Scumtree for £400 but that is the "Before Shiters Discount" price.

Current shiters discount rate is 12.5%

Mixed emotion fest!

 

A gumtree enquirer has provisionally buyed this.

He is from Oxfordshire but has arranged for a non virtual, mutual friend of ours (small world indeed) to supply me with the relevant monies this week and relieve me of my Transit.

 

Chuffed: Because I got the full asking....(provisionally!)

 

Wounded: Because he's a breaker and will be dismantling rather than revelling in it's splendour.

I got pissed about royally trying to sell my transit to a well known breaker. After 3 missed collections it went to the second highest bidder who turned up and dragged it away behind a smokey teranno

I just happened to venture to the bottom of the garden this afternoon and realised how much crap there is to get rid of.

 

Old transits are cheaper than skips .

 

Saw a perfect* ldv on eBay but it was 200 miles away

Sorry to say my Transit was hoovered up by a breaker. Saw my asking price out of him but saddened my heart as it still had plenty of service left in it.

^^^Are you sure your local tip lets vans on site? Some do, some don't.

Our local one are okay with anything smaller than a LWB Transit with no sign writing.

I think the mechanics of them export. Everytime my local breakers get on the engine, box and axle are taken straight out.
