Not into Yanks but is the top one an Impala? Sure I used to have a Dinky model one of these (US cop car) as a kid.

Like the pick-up 8th pic - is it a Ranchero??

Don't think I'd want either in the UK though!

1959 Impala Sport Sedan....Corgi did the cop car.   Absolutely beautiful car and I am going to keep staring at it until I can't see that Scimitar GT any more.....

Corgi - that's what I think I meant to say!

They all made funny cop cars!   Don't think a four door hardtop would have been Officer Dibble's first choice, well his maybe but not the bean-counters.   Dinky did an even more improbable Cadillac amongst others....

I'm sure I had an Impala Fire Chiefs car, thought it was something to do with red Indians when I was a kid.

As for that Scimitar,I don't like ,but I'm glad it exists. 70's Customs may look awful now but they're Ilike those hideous Max Power kitted 5 GTs and Saxos, in that they were a major part of our automotive history and at least a few should be saved- if only to remind people not to make the same mistakes again.

I think that red pickup is just a regular UK market Ranger, they seem to have grown a bit over the last few years.

Yee ,and indeed, Har!

Yeah the red truck is a new shape ranger uk model. I use one for work, a single cab 2wd. Horrible modern looks but nicely old fashioned to drive

Some nice stuff there.

I saw the meet as I drove out of Costco one Sunday last year. On that occasion there seemed to be a fairly heavy PT Cruiser presence which was as good a reason as any to not stop.

Wouldn't have minded seeing that lot today though, wish I'd known about that as I've been sat around with nothing useful to do all day otherwise.

I was at the KK today in Enfield, so was a local fire engine and 3 crew lol.

You'll never get up the ladders eating those things lads lol.

seeing as it's 2015 did that Delorean bring a hoverboard along ?

Where was the meet?

Have seen a ranchero and similar mustang (could be the same?) around Warrington / Widnes.

It's in the car park next to Asda and Costco just by the Trafford Centre. Obviously next to the Krispy Kreme gaff too.

I`ve had a few yanks. Love them. bang for buck they`re hard to top. Here`s my old Mustang from a few years back.

Spent a few bob getting it to look like that mind. Fuckin lived in a house with no heating and ate pot noodles to keep it. . No shit.

Mr Lobster has answered you there, minus a few details.  What this is, is the regular monthly meet of the American Auto Club North West, which started a few years ago as a Krispy Kreme meet but quickly outgrew the car park and spread into Costco, who very co-operatively lend their space.  Members do turn up from Warrington/Widnes regularly.  I've even been known to show my face, in fact I nearly did today but the attraction of a Onesie Day was too strong.  Well you know, compared to a 200 mile round trip...

I'm with Aldridge on this, they get under your skin though I tend to go for the 40s and 50s stuff. Currently out of work and the last thing sold will be the Galaxie.

Lifes too short not to have a thirsty V8 soundtrack

Looked a good show, especially since it's the middle of winter and there's salt all over the roads!

The Ranchero is lovely. I really like the front end on them!

After looking at the pic's it's making me want to get my Mercury out. It's not been run since the first weekend of November, and I think I'm suffering V8 deprivation! It's just the road salt that puts me off!

That's where my cheap low-value Mercury scores... I can and do use it daily, and in fact it's done two similarly-sized round trips in the last few weeks.  It's very relaxing...

I may have fallen in love with that Scimitar a little bit.

I  American cars, particularly from the '70s.  The love of 1950s yanks is obvious; chrome, fins etc.  And the '60s cars too with all that muscle car stuff.  But American cars from the 1970s are just a bit of an embarrasment so it's like they're trying to pretend it never happened.  My liking of them came from TV shows of the time, that's why I think cornering at 40mph with tyres screaming in a huge tail slide is a good thing.

And that's why I think they're dramatic enough for a Scalextric track

I love that clip!  I've seen it before, but it stands repeating.  Three different black-and-whites!  And look at the body roll on those things, totally CHiPs!  I want those.
