W124 1989 230e auto white 83k......

Just traded in with me today...... a wee bit of wob in the front wings...but looks fine from a bit away. (owner was certain car was an amazing example) interior unmarked, lots of bits of paper and receipts and history (none of it changes what the car is so haven't looked through it)  starts stops and seems mechanically fine, only obvious fault is a tick tick tick from exhaust manifold..    £575.   mot end july, only advisory was on one rear shocker.  private plate worth ££££££££££££££ included cos it isn't)

^^Don't let him smoke in it!   Shame this involves a trip past the Blacksmithy at Gretna 'cos I would be all over this down here, looks a colossal bargain to me.   230E the one to have too!

Not many 124s at this mileage for this money.

Ooh, another 124, and in White with wheel trims. I fancy an early 200D auto in White with a dark Blue interior just as one of my Dad's mates used to run as a taxi in Brussels.

WOULD, but I need to sort my own 124 out first. Good luck wi' sale.

I find these VERY hard to resist.  Does it have the blue 'tartan' interior - I may be on a train tomorrow if it does!!

This is still languishing in a shed..... no one want it?   If not I shall have to do something with it... it is now rarer than it was a little over 4 yrs ago.... not moved since.....

As a current owner of a 260 I would recommend one of these. Prices are edging up as numbers thin. They are a fantastic car. Classic shape and detailing but better IMHO to drive than the earlier Mercs.

Oh, that’s quite nice. Colour me interested...

I had forgotten i sat out a wee while. Tucked away again now. It has lterrally sat for over 4 yrs though so some work is likely to be needed. I wouldn't be expecting to drive it any distance. The flat tyre is inackered. Holds air for a day or two

Don't think I can afford it (actually, I just can't, BMW has a mayo filled engine etc...) but what price you looking at?

Have put a 'for sale' tag on it so hopefully advert gets more notice.

I will take pic tomorrow. Its grey xloth and in fantastic condition with from memory nothing negative about it

It will probably appreciate the same over the next four years. Investment potential!

Oh dear. This is tempting. Whereabouts in Aberdeenshire? Yes I know you lot think nothing of 16 hour round trips but I'm a lazy shit so anything over 30 mins away is a pain in the arse.

Mine was off the road ten years. They are the cars older owners loved and kept even though they have stopped driving. They are those kind of cars.

For a car introduced 33 years ago they remain so useable. If I have to make a trip like round the M25 I always take the Merc.

If I was to take a trailer up for this would anyone want something taking up from Manchesterish for the fuel cost?

Posted

£500 is a bargain for that, I'd get it licked into shape, in an even whiter white room and on ebay for £2.5k with various simpering epithets attached.

Loved this 4 years ago and love it now. I don’t think Kinkersaab has put a car on here that I haven’t been interested in I just need a big shed or barn!
