Usually things like Laundry Delivery.

Stafford Hospitals had an electric Bedford CF in the 1980s to do inter Hospital Stores Deliveries.

Registering it as an Ambulance had/has all sorts of advantages, like no road tax etc

Electric ambulance!

Already at least 15 years old when the picture was taken, I wonder if it was used to transfer patients between buildings within the same site?

Probably just for moving stores around. @Momentary Lapse Of Reason got there first

My childhood. Ford Pops  ( though they look like 4 door Prefects maybe) and a Bedford CA Utilabrake.

2dr pop was bottom of range,4 Dr prefect was top of range, Anglia was middle  range think that was 2&4 Dr.

Is that George & Mildred  or Arthur & Olive on combination?

Anglia was always 2 doors, Prefect always 4.

When the final generation Anglia (with the reverse rake rear screen) was launched in 1959, the 4 door Prefect continued and a new Popular was launched which was essentially the just discontinued 2 door Anglia with a more basic specification, to replace the old "sit up and beg" Popular which was essentially a pre-WW2 design.

Basic’s the word. I think the heater was an option. Certainly no radio or carpet. I believe it did have electric wipers rather than the hilarious vacuum operated ones.

The overlapping  100E body car with the 105 E was the 107E OHV engined Prefect with a four-speed gearbox.

Well that was the overlapping 100E four door body car.

The overlapping 100E two door body car was the Popular, which retained the 100E designation along with its engine and gearbox.

The Pop definitely had a 3 speed.
