Rob's Rover 75 - now carlo's

Yay more raffle shenanigans, I too have never parked my posterior in one of these beauties plus Mrs Seal likes the interior and her 1st car was an E-reg 213 so I (probably) wouldn't be murdered should I win, so what the hell - any 3 random numbers for me please :-)

That's the bargain of the century at £300.

However, 'I've win a raffle' is far easier to get past the wife than 'I've bought a car you hate', however cheap it is. If this is happening, I'm in.

Count me in for this if it goes ahead as well.

I think it needs to be pay pal as a gift with no mention of raffle in any transaction otherwise they get shirty about it.

I think when Shitpeas raffled the 305 we stated 'return of funds' or something ...

Blimey, more interest than I thought there'd be. In advance of me sorting something out, how does the old paypal thing go again? Send funds as gift is it to stop them getting arsey? Tickets would be £6 each.

Yes I think so Rob. Billy Cavcraft can confirm as his raffles come with some instructions about not mentioning 'Raffle' on the paypal transaction. Other than that you should be ok...

The quickest way would be to start a topic in the "Open Forum" (which the public can't see) that just says "Rover Raffle - John at yahoo dot com" then we send you the funds as a gift on Paypal with the message "Happy Birthday - 49" and then a matching post on the thread that also says "Happy Birthday - 49" so others can see what numbers have gone.  Any other way will involve sending dozens of messages back and forward. Should have this all wrapped up by midnight.

And don't mention it in a post on the Internet. They have been known to contact people who overtly break terms and conditions to inform them that their account is temporary frozen.

Is this on then? If so can we have a list of who's had what numbers?

Psst, don't tell 'em it's a raffle. Oh damn.

Sounds like a good plan. I wasn't aware the Open Forum was only for registered users, is that true Dave/mods?

I'll sort it all out tomorrow with regard to numbers that are already gone.

Log out and try and view the Open Forum. You can't.  But use "at" not "@" and "dot" not ".com" to evade the spam Bots.

As per Alan's suggestion, list of numbers taken is over here

Feel free to tell me if I've fucked up on any of the arrangements, but I hope that's all there.

Can Hertz and The Moog choose new numbers as yours were already taken by others first. The judge and carlo have been allocated random numbers as requested, so please note these when making your payments, thanks.

Best not let this thread go too far down until the tickets are sold.

Gentle prod, I'm £48 short so a few still need to pony up if it's gonna happen tomorrow, cheers!

Big Ron wants to see Andy in a 75, even if the big Scot don't like it...

Where are you / the car ?

Have I made a huge mistake that may involve a 1000 mile round trip if I win?

Posted

London. So yes, a big trip for you. But my next chod purchase may be geographically dictated by whoever wins, so I can deliver and have a last trip in the old thing. Only catch is you pay for the pez!

I'm at a wedding today so likely to miss the draw. At least I'll be surrounded by friends and family to help me celebrate* if I win. Or perhaps help commiserate with poor Mrs DW. How exciting.

Just realised 18 was the number which won me THE MIGHTY PRIDE.

I've never won a raffle with the same number twice - 1, 13 and 18 so far. I hope my run of good* luck** continues.
