for sale 1972 Austin 1100 and 1974 VW camper

I've been umming and arring over which car to get rid of and realised that I'm not going to have time to sort out either of these cars so is any one after a project before they land on eBay?

Both are non runner's with no t+t, rough interior's and paintwork but they are both fairly solid and complete.

Edit. Heres some dubious ebay style pics now I've cleared all the shite out of them.

I'd be prepared to let the Austin go cheaply if a good home is promised on here where it will get put back on the road. I couldn't give two shits about the bus so that can make some proper coin off a VW mong and be pineappled to death.post-4555-0-44080100-1410110442_thumb.jpgpost-4555-0-24528500-1410110545_thumb.jpgpost-4555-0-65995300-1410112128_thumb.jpgpost-4555-0-28532500-1410112259_thumb.jpgpost-4555-0-67901000-1410112401_thumb.jpgpost-4555-0-15761000-1410112456_thumb.jpg

The 1100 will turn over if the plugs are removed so I'm guessing that the starter is goosed. Otherwise it needs a new closing panel under the n/s sill, work on both rear arches/rear wings a small plate on the boot floor and a few on the o/s inner wing. The paintwork is knackered all over and it needs a new carpet in the back. It is worth fixing, I've done a lot of work already and I would rather let one of you guys have it for £100 on condition that you get it on the road or bring it back. Does that sound fair?

-Always wanted a Type 2 VW Camper, I really think I have maybe missed the boat as regards getting a non-mongified one. How bad (or good) is it?

Posted

I'd be very interested in the VW, but you'd be mad to sell it to me as I'd only be prepared to pay the going rate for the equivalent Sherpa.

For me too, please: price guide plus any other relevant information, thankyouplease :)

Camper is of interest to the wife. I am sure it wont see a pineapple on this forum

I'll give you a millionty pounds for the bay, to use as a source of spares for mine!

I reckon you'd be best of ebaying the Camper as I can never believe what they go for, but people pay it.

I've edited the first post with some ADO16 details. Bus to follow later

Sounds incredibly fair and decent. It's rare to see any ADO16 at Autoshite prices these days. Wish I had space.

I want that 1100 soooo bad!  It has all my favourite things.  I cannot find anyway to obtain it as I am devoid of free time, cash and space, which is very sad as I am not devoid of materials and enthusiasm to get it sorted.

I would keep it purple with a green interior.

I did forget to mention that I'm in a bit of a hurry to make a gap on the drive which is why I'm offering it up at scrap money.

Are there any loving homes that could come and fetch it quickly?

Busfest was this weekend gone at the Malvern Three Counties Showground, so get it on Ebay to make the most of any post show high spirits from the pineapple kids :-)

I got stuck behind a bunch of the bloody things coming home on the A40 last night.

You are not alone, except I stopped my trigger finger on that 1100 just in time!

This is one of two Zombie threads to walk the scabby Earth of Autoshite today.  I quite like seeing ye olde threades of tatte.

Posted

Am I alone in getting a wee bit annoyed by people who stalk these ere pages with what appears to be the sole intention of getting a 'bargain'.

It does rather go against the autoshite spirit.

The 1100 is still for sale if anyone is interested,  I could really do with some money at the moment too.

I think I bought it from Sharley17194 in the first place after seeing it on the tat thread.  It was definately from somebody who had owned it twice and needed space for a Porsche 924.

I would love to keep it but am suffering from a severe lack of time and funds until I've sold the old house and a lack of space when I have.

The camper has thankfully departed to a Gumtree buyer who A-framed it home then hit it with a lowering stick and fitted pre-1970 numberplates.

I simply asked for more info on the camper and for a price, the thread stated... "campervan for sale"... and the owner had already said he could get "proper coin" on ebay,

where was the bargain, sorry i don't quite understand ?

Can't see a problem, in this case it's worked out ok for Catsinthewelder and the last owner, all being well. To be fair to Blackbart he made a simple mistake that's easily done and threw his hand up when he realised it was an old thread.

It's nice to see an ADO16, so I'm not offended. They're ace.
