Nice to see the two foreign front-drivers – DS (Slough built) and Deek (Irish built) – in there. Streets ahead of all those miserable Fords

I remember that.

A few years later I bought a Saab 99. A good car with a mediocre powertrain.

It was near Chesterfield from what I've heard & the local dealer had it on display for a time to show the strength of the bodywork.

Not me, but in the early 80s my parents were getting an extension built and had employed a bunch of cowboys.

As they finished the brick laying part of the build, they realised they’d be about 50 bricks short of what they needed. So the boss decides a quick trip to the builders merchants is necessary and it’s only a few bricks so he decides to go in his own car, a rusty Mini.
An hour or so later he returns , and the second he stops outside our house, the whole floor fell out of the Mini and the bricks sat on the road.

The Wellington statue in Glasgow ( by the Gallery of Modern Art) is the one that is famous for the cone on his head.

That one is Edinburgh.
