And another picture of Pat Moss and Ann Wisdom found at https://www.mgcc.co.uk/ann-riley-nee-wisdom-an-appreciation/

I remember well the restoration of this car in Practical Classics rather a long time ago.  I am somewhat reassurred to see that as it has recently sold for £45K that it will be well looked after.  That's a lot of dsoh for an old A40, though I always thought that it was an amazing car, so far ahead of its time.

TK...or earlier? Am not so hot on commercials.

If earlier then it would be a S type (military version called RL )

I do like those Amphicars but the truth is they are both rubbish as a car on the road and rubbish as a boat in the water.

Yep, introduced in the very first edition of Practical Classics in May 1980

She's gone! And the toon council have reversed the one way. Wise, Speke were bought by Brewin Dolphin in 1998 but still have offices in the toon.

As far as I can work out, this was a raffle prize promoting Gauloises.  Spricht irgendjemand Deutsch?  The caption on the back of the photo reads:

Quote

Truck-Ente

Yeah, I saw that on the Ebay ad  but wasn't convinced by 'truck duck', I wonder if there is some other translation of 'Truck-Ente'?

A quick look suggests ze Germans refer to the 2CV as a duck, ente is the duck part of 'lame duck' in German.

In Belgium it is often referred  to as the Goat (geit). The Dutch refer to it as ugly duckling (lelijk eend)
