Aha. I claim my five pounds. 

But as @Andrew353w says you would struggle to have a picnic there now, I imagine there is a crash barrier through the middle of the grass and I expect it's resident permit parking on the service road so expect you'd get a ticket if you parked there very long, clutch or no clutch.

Tubes were the norm on Ladas right up till they stopped being imported in 1997.
