In the spirit of 'fuck it you only live once', I dun gone an got a Jaaaaaaag

Full fat 4.0 V8 Supercharger goodness, shit the bed its quick, the speedo's almost as quick as the fuel gauge lol

Build quality is Coventry's finest (so needs some attention in places so I thought it fits the AS profile quite well!)

What Performance shite does the AS massive have to show?

I briefly considered getting me a 90s ZR-1, but my midlife crisis just doesn't want to kick in yet.

Hence it'll be yet another waftbarge for me, I'm afraid.

Quickest car I currently own is a Volvo S60 T5.  Don't think it'd trouble an XKR in a straight line, but still plenty quick enough for me.

That XK8 made my mouth go all watery like I'd seen a steak.

I kid you not my 81 year old grandad has a xk8 which he has had vinyl wrapped!!!!!

It's needed the sills sorting as they had gone big style underneath and it's recently decided it doesn't want to change gears no more. Luckily a secondhand autobox has been sourced.

A Scirocco GT.

Not this particular one, but who cares for it will probably do a millionty miles an hour since if it ever hits the red line in top it will be doing 156mph.

Suzuki Alto?

My utmost respect to the XK8 driving grandpapa, a colleague in his 70s drives a supercharged one, a damn sight quicker than I would.

My old man (who is also 81, and now a great grandad) loves his beat-up Ferreter S-Turbo:

I sometimes borrow it for A-framing missions. It'd be a more useful machine if it had a low-range box, and a bit more life to the steering, but it's a good old tool.

Before the Subaru, Pops had a Ralliart Evo 6.

Does it still count if the fast shite doesn't actually run?

Are we just looking for potentially fast shite?

My Fabboceptor (currently Brokendownoceptor ) can do 140, allegedly, but the rubbish front aerodynamics make it too scary to go above 120.  Doing a wheely on a Fizzy is OK , but doing a wheely in a mahoosive 43 year old GT car is a bit too committing for my tastes.

Fastest in the Lobster fleet is the Toledo - 20V Turbo and  has 180 Spanish horses. May have seen an indicated 135 on a private* French test track / autoroute

Go on then, because in that case I could also enter my part-owned Fule Funnycar, which hasn't made a single pass yet.

I'd love one of these in my life. Until then, the C70 is pretty quick but you do get OMG TORK STEER on uneven or wet surfaces

The (OP's) Jag is lovely but I'm afraid Tayne's won this thread with his BMW.

A standard superbike will win here, nearly every time.

My Saab 900 is fast enough for me. It's actually not mega-fast but I like the way it surges forwards when the turbo kicks in, with lots of torque steer. Being able to do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds or so, or having a humongous top speed, is less important than the way it feels[/i ] IMHO.

I have a 70's sporty coupe in the form of a Datsun 160J SSS and 80's hot hatch in the form of a Cherry Europe GTi. Both of which are in fact utterly pedestrian although the latter sounds great and is a fun drive. I will have a very fast Nissan Prairie soon though if that counts!

I think this Cherry Turbo is still languishing on the outskirts of Cromer, Norfolk:

On the subject of hot* Nissans, my old man reckons that my Almera 2.2 dCi (136) is a sports car. I beg to differ although it's certainly the fastest car I have owned to date. The previous owner did add a 'sport' badge to it, mind!

Alfa GTV V6, although it's currently rendered useless by my attempts to *improve the brakes. Don't think it would keep up with a supercharged jaaaag though.

The Z is quite good when it's dry, you can catch the back when it goes walkies, but I poked it into a 180 degree spin at about 20 mph a couple of weekends ago in the damp. So performance car....  sometimes.

My summer car is not fast or especially good around twisty roads but it does have that lovely 5 pot burble when you put your foot to the floor..

But I don't know if it has a nice burble from the exhaust or if the rear box is on the way out lolpost-9282-0-25261600-1392760208_thumb.jpg

Orient blue 330ci M-Sport with a special order interior which is apparently called 'Exclusive' with sandy colour leather seats and door cards with black dash, console and carpets, kinda hard to explain but I don't have a pic. Only one I saw like it when I was looking...Will sort a pic out tomorrow when im on my laptop.
